Don't get your logic here, a midfielder you say did sod all, but played more passes than this player? Additionally it's about where the passes are played, I saw Kodjia make one incisive forward pass to Bjarnasson infact, he almost seems to deliberately ignore Hogans runs.

Again...with you on this entirely. And we really must improve, from being play off potentials (until last week I believed) we are suddenly sleepwalking into the same fate wolves did 4 years ago, do we change manager, i'd have said that's madness not long ago, but 2/3 more games and we may be crying out for a/any new manager bounce to keep us up, despite the talent at our disposal! We really are looking like a jinx at present for players, managers alike

I see comments like this and wonder what game some people actually watch. He got round plenty, showed and took the ball on, certainly put his foot in well enough too, visibly tired after and hour, but hey it'd be boring if we all agreed! Maybe the crossbar incident he could have contributed to a 3 inch lower shot and that would help ;-) not fit to wear the shirt though....try again.

Not to mention a strike 'partner' that doesn't appear to want a partner, got far more natural ability and intelligence than Kodjia has (and I'm a Kodjia fan) but one of this pair needs to realize it's a team game.

Agree too. I think it was obvious after 30 minutes today we could have ditched the 3 at the back and maybe tried to take the game on! Like you say, a sorry mess! I think he drops in there too due to frustration, and having a bit more of a winning mentality/trying to influence the game, as a club we've been far too passive, for too long.

Well that's my point, he's not a holding MF, it does indeed show, but it's the manager call, I doubt Lansbury wants to play that role, I wasn't having a pop, I was trying to reason why he's not being as effective as he can be.

Been pretty ineffectual in all appearances to date, including missing two decent chances, no where near Grealish's level ability wise and yet Jack gets ripped to pieces at every opportunity by many fans, might be off topic but at least Grealish has influenced 7/8 games positively in his appearances so far.

Likewise, and as someone that's been present at every game this season, seen us bring in a good manager (imo), the best players in the league (with some balance too now) I think we need to click/gel very quickly, I'm on the optimistic end as a Villa fan but we are sleepwalking our way into doing exactly the same as Wolves did in 12/13.....before anyone asks I really don't know what the answer is!

Erm I was being tongue in cheek! But as this is the midfield problem thread.....good midfielders to donkeys would be appropriate, but conversely you could tell me which players on that list have gone good to donkey :-)

Can't argue with that response at all. Really do think he'll thrive even more with the appropriate quality around him, ironically I think his work rate and getting back to challenge/tackle has improved, but admittedly we want to see what he does in a more creative/positive manner, he's been playing with some real jokers over his career, I think that will become apparent alongside better quality. -

Well I've seen every game live this season and seen 3 great goals plus several assists. He falls over a lot admittedly, but gets no protection, do people like you deliberately go against our own 'products' Either way you and others are the negative whiners that should stay away from VP, too many with a preset to moan regardless -
10 days strictly speaking! Though given we play brentford on the 31st I hope we now only have one game pre any new signing (as a worst case)....we shall see!
