Completely agree - first half he gave the ball away so sloppily near the touchline - this led to a period of prolonged possession from Forest which they could have scored from. I feel like he goes hiding and really fills me with no confidence. Was very surprised to see him start. I wish all Villa players the best but can’t see what he really offers. It’s fair to say starting Sunday we have the most important 7 days of the season coming up. Big IF but should we win all three games (blues, forest, boro) my maths would have us 7th due to permutations in other games with teams playing each other coupled with teams dropping points. That would leave us with the international break which would give us time to get Axel back in the mix, help Chesters rehabilitation, Lansbury might awaken from the dead and even get some more bodies back. Then it really would be all systems go to the end of the season. BIG IFS but not impossible.

Completley agree - he also shows zero composure when crossing and I actually think he makes odd runs to avoid the ball in space such is his lack of confidence. His strength is non existent and needs to bulk up massively. As I’ve posted previously if we are pinning our hopes on him next season or he is a first 11 starter we are in for a long long season. I don’t doubt he is a good kid with good attitude who try’s but as of yet I have seen nothing to suggest he can cope at this level. I think people get carried away by the fact he is a local lad. either way UTV!

I want the kid to do well I really do but just can’t see anything that makes me feel he has much to offer? Am I wrong? his crossing is woeful and I feel he goes missing to avoid the ball. When he has it I feel he dosent have the confidence to drive with it and makes an easy pass. He needs to get stronger in my opinion but I never feel he is going to change the game for us. Yes he scored v Sheff U but even that game he hit 3 of the worst crosses possible. Unfortunately we will be relying upon him next season so we really need him to step up.

Completely agree - if anyone watched the game back he was absolutley woeful. He took the goal well but ultimately he isnt the answer to our problems and I really worry that if he is starting for us next season we really are in a mess as he isn’t going to take us back to the PL. Yes he appears to love the club but I think sometimes people get miguided views on players because they are so desperately hoping that one of our own comes good. That being said I do hope it gives him confidence and he does put a run of decent performances together but my instinct is that he is not very composed under pressure and too lightweight and ultimately will be another youngster who falters under the incredible pressure we put on our players. prove me wrong Andre!

Stan returning as a player won't happen nor should it. This would be a terrible move for all parties involved and would actually make problems worse. This off season we need a complete overhaul and there is no room unfortunately for sentimental gestures. We need a clean break and start again. I think Stan is thinking with his heart rather than his head.
