I made that same mistake in another thread, but apparently he hasn't legally changed his name and has been playing in preseason with Philogene-Bidace on his shirt again. Maybe it was just for his Cardiff loan he made that change? I guess we will know when the season starts properly.

It's not that unusual for a club to have three senior keepers, is it? I know we have had three before (when Postma was around etc). Is there any reason we don't keep Olsen AND get another keeper in?

I agree with letting at least six of those seven move on. I would like to think a right back will still come in this window though. I'd rather not have to rely on players not in their best positions.

A few more in and out I'm sure before the window closes but what a squad we currently have! That's not even including any of our promising under 21 players except Duran. I have to say I am feeling very positive about this season. I don't see us selling anyone that we don't want to lose (such as Martinez or Luiz) and I am excited to see who else joins. Our three signings so far make us a level above what we were last season and anyone else is just a cherry on the top. Exciting times indeed.

Cash is not a weak link in our team. I have no idea where you get this idea that he is nervous on the ball and can't pass the ball. Utter rubbish! He has been a solid player for us since his arrival, is rarely responsible for conceded goals and is quite capable going forward. Nothing he has done makes me concerned about him as a player for us. No he isn't our best player on the pitch but the idea that he desperately needs to be replaced is nonsense. What we need is another right back to compete with him who can offer different strengths to give us options.

Just a thought....with Cuadrado moving from Juventus to Inter, does that free up Dumfries for us to take for right back now? We were linked in the Spring. He would be an awesome addition.

This is a player that arsenal and Newcastle have wanted for a while. He is a Pau Torres level signing in the RW/CF role and will be our record signing. An brilliant edition in the part of the pitch we most needed!

Don't get me wrong, all football transfer fees (except Kamara and Tielemans) are ridiculous prices, BUT, by today's market standards, for a forward/winger, with his reputation both domestically and internationally and at his age, 65 million euros is not ridiculous. It's the sort of price you have to pay when his club don't want to sell. Grealish cost £100 million. That is almost double. Good as he is, Grealish is not twice as good as Diaby. Yes it is much more than we have spent before, but then we have never spent much on top players compared to clubs we are competing with. The price doesn't really matter. We are not the clubs accountants. Getting a top forward/winger will make a huge difference to us this season and may make the difference between Europe next year or not. Get him in, let's just hope he wants us over Saudi money.

Are emotions like the seasons in the southern hemisphere? Do they get flipped as well? Summer here, winter there. Excited by being linked to one of the top strikers in the world, annoyed by it?
