  1. No, I really don't. I don't have to like him either though.
  2. Maybe because they wanted round all along. Just saying. More like whispering it though, it's not a popular suggestion.
  3. Cannot believe people are in here questioning the new manager already. Peak Villadom that, after he's just delivered one of our best league wins in years. Then he gets lumped with this absolute punchline of a goalkeeper for his second match, and he's being blamed for how poor he is? Quality. For the record, and don't hold me to this as it is just <<supposition>>, I'd think it's far more likely that Martinez asked not to play than Emery just chose to rest him. Even if not, let's not lump Olsen's performance at Emery's feet please? I trust he'll limit his use of him as much as physically possible in future.
  4. There is certainly an element of fitness to this story but sometimes you just don't get it back. He peaked early as a player but has been out of shape for a long time and has now lost what he once had I'm afraid. Ings for me is actually a similar story. He's no longer the lethal predator he was for Southampton and past clubs because he's slightly out of shape and past his peak now, if you catch him from the side he's carrying weight he never used to have. We have a tendency to indulge this type of thing for far too long, I'm really hoping Emery is tough with them.
  5. Fair enough, and appreciate the geometric accuracy of what you've done above, but in situations like this, designers will usually adjust it optically so it 'looks' right to the eye. After all it's not much use having something that is technically correct but appears wrong to anyone who looks closely (be they our own fans, neutrals, etc).
  6. Not good enough, horribly slow, terrible touch, simple as. Our backup on the right hand side is a short, not terribly fast 37-year-old who nonetheless makes this guy look like Neil Taylor on a bad day (sorry Tayls).
  7. I think I'm looking for the same sense of balance but from the other side of this? Check out the McGinn, Chambers, Konsa and obviously Olsen threads after the game yesterday. Plenty of very loud criticism. You'll struggle to find too many posts defending the players with much spirit. Cut to the Mings thread and it's a desperate firefight as usual, with his loyalists desperately pouring cold water over any criticism as per usual. I'll say this, you've stepped out and admitted he wasn't good last night. All I'm asking is for a bit of balance. He was immense last weekend and I said as much here. Same v Brentford. I try to always call it as I see it. And then in here sometimes I see people actively avoiding doing that, which grates.
  8. How bad must all other Swedish goalkeepers be that this guy is their number one? Seriously, **** hell.

    Ezri Konsa

I thought Ezri was poor too if I'm being honest, but just a shade better than Mings and Antonsson. Miles better than Chambers, mind...
  10. Bednarek is Bednarek couldn't have put it better myself.
  11. They were all terribly poor. Konsa was shocking too. But the clamour to defend Mings at all costs no matter what actually happens during the match is becoming nauseating. Please, for the love of god, drop the 'whataboutery' and just admit he had a poor game.
  12. Diego is out for the season, steady on, no he's not. Or if he is, doubt if he even realizes it yet, as there would need to be a significant setback. Hopefully not. He's been back at Bodymoor doing light work this week, was all smiles for the cameras. Wouldn't be surprised to see him kicking balls again in December, then hard training early January with some game time after that.
  13. It's not off centre but the 4 is over-elevated.
  14. Choosing to look at the bright side here which is that Emery has learned some very valuable lessons tonight: • Never play Robin Olsen again and replace him as back-up ASAP. • Augustinsson and Chambers are not starters either. • Konsa and Mings, for first-choice centre-halves, are also suspect. • McGinn is effectively done at this level. 90 mins of absolutely nothing tonight. And there is no feature of his game that is useful to us coming off the bench unless it's to use his arse to shield the ball at the corner flag in injury time, but even then...... • Watkins and Ings just can not play together. I don't care, they just can't. How many times have we tried it now? 3 different managers, 3 different systems, same shit result. • Lots of work to do, lots of players to buy (again).
  15. It really seemed like you were, to be fair. What is your point?
  16. Yanited fans love being fake complimentary once they've got the win in the bag. But only then.
  17. Oh look, another player who shouldn't be on the pitch.
  18. You're being kind (I imagine deliberately so) to Mings and Konsa there, who have both been awful too. Only defender so far with any credit to his name here is Young. Awful performances to a man otherwise
  19. 3 poor games. He's a back-up keeper, we don't have the luxury of giving him 5-10 games and let's **** hope we're never forced to do so. It's very clear he's not of the required quality.
  20. There was never anything to forgive, he just keeps getting injured. Not really much we can do with that.
  21. Horrific Olsen. Bad decision to leave Ollie on the pitch too. Archer must be wondering what on earth he has to do to play some football.
  22. Maguire's a strange one, he's too much of a bumbling oaf for me to hate him. He's very low on the list of United players I'd like to slap. Fernandes, McTominay and Ronaldo are right up the top.
