    Focussing on the positives Mings and Delph went on to become England internationals. Plenty others on the list continue to or played on at international level and top level football. Has Van Dijk really been that bad? Liverpool as a whole were a mess. (I don't know)

    I've appreciated him throughout his time here because of the way he plays—ever moreso under Emery (like with a lot of players). It's not recency bias for me, so you can rule that one out. In my opinion the bit I've bolded is more nonsense! People have a different opinion to you though—that's enough tbh.

    As I mentioned earlier one example that always comes to my mind is Delph. The season he came back he didn't look great, but the season after that one was when he fulfilled all his promise, looked quick and dynamic and pretty great. It might just be a protracted process but there's no reason he can't come back just as good. But yeah it'll take some time.

    It's not at all. Even Fabian Delph did it about ten years ago at a time when he'd never been good for us, then he came back and was twice the player, became an England international and macked us off for Man City and won lots of trophies. Loads of players do it and come back fine. The list is probably enormous.

    This is nonsense. He's consistently played well for us. He's not a superstar, but he's a battler with quality—he's been mostly effective for us and has had plenty of moments in a Villa shirt he can be proud of.

    The Telegraph is all nonsense, and this just proves it. I quite like our kit (I didn't at first), and it's the best claret and blue kit in the league by a mile.

    I remember looking mid season once and they were a bit lower than that, but I think 7th is pretty good tbh! I was working with inferior information there.

    I wasn't paying amazing attention, but my impression was that Villareal didn't do very well in the league when they were doing well in the cups. Hopefully we have a bigger squad to avoid those kinds of issues associated with 8 extra games.

    I pay little attention to Man City, but my impression was of him starting more often than not. I might be wrong though!

    I couldn't get past the dumb Uhura singing episode. It was so crap, a plot strung together by the most nonsense contrivancies. I think it was episode 2. I've been tempted to give it another shot, but gah that episode annoyed me. When I saw what you mention in your spoiler there I had concerns! That's not Star Trek.

    I mean saying we're losing our soul is a bit much. As there's a buyback clause this isn't a permanent goodbye necessarily. Beyond this transfer in so many ways we are elevating and rebuilding a soul the likes of which we haven't seen for a long time (one fit for modern football, for good or bad). We also have plenty of soul...Ramsey, McGinn, Mings, Luiz and on and on.

    From my experience living in Madrid, give me a drizzly summer day at 20 degrees over a 40 degree oven (as it is in Bahrain today). Humans can only function properly in one of those temperatures.

    Looking back at your initial post, BBC bosses described his comment as inappropriate. It is, of course it is. In that context it's obviously an inappropriate thing to say to a professional sportswoman. The interviewer made a mistake. Who cares. We'll, it's you who seems to care. It would have no legs if you weren't posting it. If you didn't see the clip originally, but did see the 'story' elsewhere, was it by any chance from a source who doen't like the BBC? Is this in fact a story about not liking the BBC?

    Cringeworthy things go on the internet. That's not a surprise either. Ironically you were the one spreading it around! It's your story. It is public because he did it on the TV.
