  1. Coutinho must have given the ball away about half a dozen times. Not good enough!
  2. Ings' finishing for us is nothing like his Southampton finishing.
  3. Konsa really needs to buck his ideas up today and put in a performance to justify the faith Gerrard is putting in him.
  4. To be fair Palace do have threats of their own in Zaha, Eze and Gallagher so we can't throw caution to the wind in this one. I'm hoping Buendia starts on Thursday though against Burnley, I can't imagine he's happy being on the bench so much especially after his performance when he last started.
  5. My team for this game: .......................Martinez........................ Cash.....Chambers.....Mings.....Digne ......................Nakamba....................... ..............McGinn...........Luiz................ ..........Buendia..........Coutinho........... ........................Ings............................ If Ollie is fit then play him instead of Ings although wouldn't be surprised if it's instead of Buendia. Would keep Ramsey on the bench for this but if Gerrard does start him I hope it's for McGinn instead of Luiz who played well as an 8 on Tuesday. Still think Konsa looks shaky so Chambers for me but reckon Gerrard will opt for Konsa again.
  6. Anywhere between 6th and 8th I'd say depending on a few factors like injuries. Having said that, we'd still have Ings, Bailey, McGinn, Nakamba, Chambers, maybe Carney, maybe Luiz as squad players so would have plenty of depth. I really don't know how good Gomez is any more and would prefer us to go for someone like Saliba over him, but Phillips and Bissouma would massively improve our weak central midfield so if we got one of them let alone both of them I'd be very intrigued for next season.
  7. By my calculations that puts him on £144000 per week. We have done brilliantly here.
  8. Whilst he's struggled in recent weeks after a great start here, I do think it's a huge statement of intent us signing him permanently and pleased it's happened. Very good price too, as we got him for half of what was originally agreed with Barca in January. Hopefully we can get a couple of other big signings through the door early in the summer so that we can have a really positive preseason.
  9. ASM probably not when we don't play with wingers but I'll give you Guimaeres. We're a fair bit better than them though (at least on paper) was my point.
  10. He's served us really well and is a great leader but if we are being brutally honest we probably need someone less error prone if we are to bridge the gap to the top teams. Would keep Mings for at least one more season and sell Hause before him, but over next season or 2 wouldn't be a bad idea to look at bringing in 2 starting CBs as well as a starting DM.
  11. Really depressing how he's gone from last season to this, I was a huge fan last season and thought he should be in the England squad but he's really not kicked on this season and in fact gone backwards. He's young so whether we should stick by him or sell I'm not sure, but we definitely need to spend money on a starting CB for next season.
  12. Overall played quite well but a combination of a shocking ref, poor defending, and poor finishing has cost us anything. Need to win our final 2 home games because our form at VP has been dire this season.
  13. Yeah he needs more consistency. To many games where he's looked below par now.
  14. It was a strange sub to take Nakamba off especially for Carney, we were always going to be more open playing that sub.
  15. Luiz was so god damn soft there too. Pathetic goal to concede as they were not threatening us at all.
  16. Very odd to drop Buendia, he was outstanding last game and deserved to retain his place. Coutinho needs to perform tonight. Like Nakamba coming into defensive midfield but Konsa is again very lucky to keep his place over Chambers. Salah and Thiago on the bench for Plop, Robertson not in the squad, it's not a full strength team but the front three still looks bloody good. We'll see how it goes.
  17. I think you could use that argument for both us and the Barcodes but probably not even one of their players would get in our side so it's definitely easier to beat them than us even if we are inconsistent.
  18. Newcastle at home is Burnley's easiest remaining fixture, for some strange reason a lot of people think Villa is easier than Newcastle. Not sure why. If we want to finish in the top half, we have to beat Palace and Burnley at home and try to nick something from City and/or Liverpool. Even then we might still miss out.
