  1. I'm confused by your post. Do you feel that playing out the season in empty stadiums is a scam designed to relegate Villa ?
  2. Trust me on this. I've been wrong many time before & will be again. And I'm ok with that.
  3. Not sure that I said to ask for less ! I just said i don't know what player values will be this coming window. As to Jacks value I believe he is top end but how everything plays out will depend on you guys avoiding relegation. If you go down & Jack whispers that he wants to move on it will change your bargaining position drastically.
  4. I think player prices will drop once the Summer transfer opens !! Having said that, I believe Jack is worth top end money if he moves this year, I just don't know what top end coin will translate to in this crazy mixed up mess.
  5. It's about horses for courses. When a team is buying a player there should be a profile in place for what is required, Wesley doesn't appear to be the style of player that Smith wanted. It appears that Smith wanted a lone striker to play up front and it also appears that Wesley does not fit that profile. Don't buy player just because he's available !
  6. I don't feel there is any way back for Drinkwater in the Premier league. The fact that after half a season at Burnley he showed up so badly out of shape tells me he is just cashing paycheques now. Damn Shame !! He was very good at Leicester !!
  7. You added perennially to your first reply and now you include regularly in this reply. My post was a generalization that top players want to challenge for cups not fight relegation battles. Full Stop. Yes You Are Wrong !!
  8. Thats a very good point. He probably was the guy organizing the D ! I'm guessing that Pepe Reina wasn't doing as good a job.
  9. Positioning is usually a coaching issue or the players are not listening to the coaches.
  10. No I don't !!! You introduced the word "perennially" !! Though things will need to change though if you manage to avoid relegation this season. Trying to outscore Premier League opposition without having a solid D will just bring the same results As for a football player at 25 years old, two years represents possibly forty per cent of his remaining career and that is not to be taken lightly. Players, not just Jack, need to see ambition and potential. It's why Mahrez left Leicester & Zaha wants out of C Palace just to use two examples. It's an ongoing story.
  11. The top players usually want to play for their country, compete at the top level (Europe) and win titles. Top players are driven by desire and most are not going to be satisfied fighting relegation battles.
  12. A troll with almost 9000 posts. That would be serious dedication !!
  13. The majority of supporters favour whatever plan works best for their club. Its human nature.
  14. But would a player sign for a club that was in a relegation battle. Normally relegation, champions league and europe have been decided before the transfer window.
  15. I have no idea how transfers will work this Summer but if the season is still ongoing while the transfer window is open players will not want to go to a club that is in a relegation battle.
  16. Its fashionable now to play out from the back but there are very few CB's that are capable of doing it for 90 minutes. Managers need to assess the talent they have and fit the system to the talent not arbitrarily declare that this is how we will play regardless of whether we have players who are capable or not. Unless you are Pep with an unlimited budget you must adapt the system to fit the team. Villa do not have the personnel to play Dean Smith football at the Premier League level ! It works in the Championship but not against the quality checkers in the prem. Everton, Tottenham & Man C have all been punished this year trying to walk the ball out, teams need to learn how to play defence first.
  17. All sport requires the player or team to go the distance, being awesome for 80 minutes and the conceding two in the last ten minutes is not unlucky, it's poor game management !! The Premier League is tough because all teams can hurt you if you if you take 30 seconds off.
  18. Musa & Slimani for sure. Perez & Iheanacho too soon to say. Ward is stuck behind Schmiechel but has looked good in the cups Iborra, Ghezzai & Adrien I agree Soyuncu, Ndidi, Kante, Mahrez, Maguire, Albrighton, Evans, Justin, Perriera, Praett, Madisson, Tielemans all huge successes !
  19. The verdict is still open on Hamza, he doesn't get to play a lot & when he does he is sometimes a little too enthusiastic with his tackles. I believe there is a very good player there but being behind Wilfred Ndidi I can't see him getting many opportunities. I doubt that Leicester would want to sell him as he is a great insurance policy for defensive midfield and he is one for the future.
  20. Which shit strikers are you referring to ?
  21. They will just include a clause that says they have the right to halt the season at any time & decide relegation/promotion. The won't get caught out twice.
  22. Whatever happens there will be law suits that will drag on for years with only the scum bag lawyers gaining anything from them. Should Villa get relegated on the basis of PPG and then sue and win two years later will they be re-instated to the Premier League ?
  23. I believe that three teams will get relegated one way or another either by finishing the season or by some kind of points per game scenario. I do think that if the season is played out then clubs should be allowed to use their home stadiums.
