    Missed most of the game but 3 losses in 4 against pretty average opposition isn't good enough. Relegation form!

    The Carlos injury has really been the biggest disappointment of this transfer window. But clubs around us are spending big. Newcastle has dropped £60m on a striker. West Ham are spending a lot, as are Wolves! Then the likes of Forest, Fulham and Bournemouth are trying to survive by dropping big numbers. £1.5 billion (already a record for a single window) spent so far and it looks like topping £2 billion by the end of window. I’m hoping for some late action.

    I agree he’s quick. But I’ve never seen him run past a defender. He usually wants to use a trick or two. Not pace.

    Good signing this. Gives us genuine pace in behind which we really don’t have at the moment.

    I’m still completely confused by VAR. Digne makes no attempt to move his arm towards the ball. It’s headed off his arm from no distance. What do you expect him to do? Big decision in the course of the game.

    Another away horror show. Absolutely destroyed in every department. Should have lost by 3-4. Mings and Konsa looks like a shadow of their former selves. We either need to move SG on now or back him massively in the market.

    We have to be honest with ourselves. We can’t play with two centre backs. Mings, Konsa, Hause and Chambers are all average at best. Play three of them and we might have half a chance!

    Palace know that if our centre backs have the ball they only want to pass to the full backs. If they cut that pass off we will just aimlessly thump it and they will pick up possession with there centre backs. The only positive is Cash looks likely to create a few chances and Zaha is a moron who could easily pick up a second yellow!

    I think the idea of a “best 11” is outdated. A good manager looks at the opposition along with his own team and picks the team most likely to pick up the win.

    I can’t stand Kane. Serial cheat and gets so upset when people have a go at him for it. He gets away with so much because he’s the England captain from the media and refs.

    I don’t know what to think about this game. I’ve watched both of Palace’s games as they were on TV. Thought they looked poor against Arsenal and good against Liverpool. The obvious question is who takes Carlos’ place and do we continue with Couthino? I’d go with: Martinez Cash Konsa Mings Digne Kamara McGinn Ramsey Buendia Ings Watkins

    If we are going to add someone like Holding I think we have enough in the 4 centre backs we have and the kids coming through. If we are going to spend money it needs to be an improvement on Mings/ Konsa!

    Was just thinking the same thing. Wasn’t there a stat that he’d missed 9 games in 6 season with injuries! Naturally he gets a 6 month injury with Villa within a week. That’s his World Cup gone too I assume!

    Need to see some change for this game. For me we should start with Martinez Cash Carlos Mings Digne Luiz Kamara McGinn Bailey Watkins Buendia After yesterday I think we need Mings back in at LCB and JJ, Ings and Couthino were so poor they need to be dropped.

    Looking at the players we have I wonder would a back 5 work well? It seems the only way we can get some width is to get the full backs forward. I’d even consider Kamara as the centre of that 5. Martinez Cash Carlos Kamara Mings Digne McGinn Luiz Couthino Buendia Watkins This allows us to get two 10s on the pitch and gives the full backs the chance to overlap!

    I was thinking the same thing. He’s the type of player we need. Quick, direct runner and can finish. Still I’d worry he’d be months getting up to speed as he hasn’t played much football recently.

    I’ll say this and this only! If that was Steve Bruce I’d be calling for his head now! As poor as I’ve ever seen Villa play. Truly terrible!
