Can Bruce be subbed?

Generally speaking ( and I'm not one of Bruce's biggest fans) I do think Bruce has improved the squad while not spending tons of money. My main gripe with him is that he hasn't got those players playing to their full potential yet when you also consider he has some very talented youngsters coming through. I also would have liked to see him show a bit more faith in Lyden rather than spending a fee and high wages on Whelan but that's only personal preference.

If it is Reading they'll have to go some to qualify for the Champions League this season.

Reminds me of Peter Beardsley in the way he plays. Stated in the match thread last night that imo he is more effective than Grealish due to better end product and wants to be involved in the game more. No fear factor either wearing the shirt. I'd be inclined not to start him against Cardiff though as Warnock will instruct his players to kick lumps out of him from the off but I'd bring him on for the last twenty of the game.

Impressed with O'Hare, Onomah and Steer while Samba settled in the second half. Subs left Villa's play a tad disjointed but in difficult conditions a win is always welcome. That second string of Villa's is good enough imo to challenge top six in the Championship so no more excuses for Bruce.

Entertaining open game with Villa punished for taking their foot off the gas again. Very impressed with O'Hare but where is Hourihane?

We need to see Hourihane given a run of games in his preferred position before forming an opinion on him but under Bruce I'm not sure he's going to get that?

What concerned me most yesterday particularly in the second half was Villa's lack of movement. Really static and no wonder the final ball is rubbish because the passer has nothing to hit. As Hendrie said post match it was just all flat in the second half and that's a trait under Bruce which is continuing from last season. Playing Samba as a forward in the last few minutes was a desperate panick move and at the moment I don't see Bruce lasting beyond Christmas.

Bacuna was poor yesterday no doubt about that and playing him is risking potential buyers going elsewhere.

Just wondering what sort of conditions was in McCormack's transfer to Villa? Was it 12m straight up or was that fee based on appearances? Could be one of the reasons why Bruce is looking McCormack gone now? 6m-8m back to Villa now would cover the initial outlay?

Looked to me yesterday that any confidence he had is totally shot. Layed the ball off yesterday when it was easier to take the player on and shoot. If Bruce is going to play him more this season then he needs to do something to help with the player's confidence telling him to be more direct.

Cannot see anyone paying 8m for McCormack at the moment so looking like he will stay at Villa.

Could be that Bristol made an offer. That offer was put to the player. Player then asked for assurances as to his first team place and didn't get them hence the transfer? Controversal one though as I don't think Terry or Samba are fit enough to be relied upon for the whole season but De Laet and Jedinak can play at CB if needed.

This is absolutely key for me concerning Villa this coming season. Bruce has the squad but is he courageous enough to do it?
