I’m wondering… whether our manager… has more ambition and greater intent than our fans… OK is not good enough for him ()… he has such high standards… I don’t think we realise quite to what extent… He is best placed to judge our players and youngsters, whether they can impact us and take us forwards… And whether we can bring in much stronger and more effective players to make us a better team NOW… These buyback clauses help us too… I don’t see the point in getting upset about sending our young players out… The ones that are ready… will be given the chance to impress. But if we can make room in our budget and squad for more top class additions… I, for one, am all for it! We want success asap… for that, we need as strong a squad as possible… Unai and Monchi have stated and suggested just that… we are going to be active right up until the deadline… There are more signings on the way and we want to fight in all competitions this season…

Cannot disagree with this at all… Also, no point constantly crossing if there’s no one there to get on the end of it… we don’t really have those kinds of players… and I prefer it that way. We normally play an intricate passing game which is much easier on the eye and produces more consistent and more clear cut chances…

Pretty much this… we won’t usually be relying on crosses… our build up play is more intricate and Moreno brings so much more to the table… A good pro but I just don’t think he’s an Unai player or fits what Unai wants… there’s more than one reason why we brought in Moreno and want to add another in that position. We won’t play shite like Everton every week either nor will our LB have so much space to exploit so often…

He must be even more excited to play in this side now A nice introduction to VP for him today… Can’t wait to see him tear it up… we could do with an added touch of class, technical excellence, flair and attacking potency…

Could clearly hear him constantly shouting and giving instructions to individual players today… he does it every game but it was much more noticeable today. Must take a lot of energy I hope they realise how lucky they are, many will never have received this sort of education in their careers beforehand… VP needs to make more noise, show more support and affection… it’s only going to help… too quiet at times today, for prolonged periods too.

Great to see him get off the mark… could surprise a few this season. In terms of physique and stature… he looks the part. A proper CF… Obviously preferred over Archer who it seems like will be sold… probably with a buyback clause (not flipping 50m though! )
