Mate, I was just pointing out that our thoughts/opinions don’t affect the club’s transfer activity… I wasn’t saying we shouldn’t express them. I think we take things a little too seriously on here at times… Just because you don’t like, rate or want a player like Felix…. It doesn’t mean he won’t be signed. I’ve already shared Unai’s positive remarks on him on at least a couple of occasions… are you and others going to be upset and not support him if he does actually join somehow? I don’t think so, I’m sure we all back and believe in Unai… I’ve already said I don’t think it’s likely either and there are other options… Feel free to continue to share your criticisms or doubts of him, I wasn’t stopping anyone… sharing opinions is part of the fun, as well as speculation, but that’s all it is… However, to continue to repeat myself, I don’t see how anyone could make an accurate judgement of his character/personality, nor have any insight into it…

According to Paddy, on the Love of Paul McGrath podcast (season preview), a club has bid for Diego Carlos and negotiations are ongoing… Personally, I don’t want to see him leave and I want to see what he can offer.. If it happens, it might suggest that we’re bringing in a RB with Konsa predominantly being played at CB…?

This is what he’s capable of and he could be good cover for Ollie too… the lad can certainly finish… Strikes me as a player that needs to “feel the love” to shine… come and join Unai’s claret n blue army lad!

I didn’t realise he was quite that highly rated and quite that technically skilled… sounds like it’s just injuries that have hampered him and poor treatment from fans that affected him… he needs to come into a positive, family atmosphere….. welcome to Unai-versity where everyone thrives! He will feel the love, especially if he makes an immediate impact… N let’s get Chiesa to “help him settle” Wow, we would be an amazing team and tear opposition to shreds!

Maybe not, but Unai and Monchi are fans of both and if it can be done… we will sign one of them… again, Unai said we will be “ready” before the window closes… I do anticipate a big signing… We already tried for Felix in Jan… Unai considers him “special”… Doesn’t matter what us lot think… Otherwise, we move on to other targets… who may be of a similar level/ability… Whoever we get, I have faith that Unai will get the best out of them. He’s done so well with the players he inherited, just imagine what he can do with those of his own choosing…

I do believe he would have started our first game… I think many underestimate how valued he has been by Unai… Forces a rejig, rethink and will affect our transfer activity… McGinn or Coutinho to come in to that attacking role now, I would assume… we need our players to step up, at least until we bring in reinforcements…

At least we have a proper captain at the helm now… Unai will steer us safely through the storms and waves…

Good shout JV… I think we could see that initially, such as vs Newcastle. Phil needs to step up in that role for now too… Or maybe we see Diaby support Ollie and Bailey in the team too… at least we have some options… and at least we have time to sign more players… still…

It’s actually better this way… at least we can still sign players. Disastrous if it happened during the season and we couldn’t bring anyone in. Players like Phil and Leon need to step up now too… Hopefully JJ is not too far away either…

Yep, he’s very good and an important player for us. Most of all, Unai is a fan… Imagine if we got Emi vs Newcastle (US friendly) in most games this season… I had big expectations for him… But… we have to manage this situation and replace him effectively for now… Can’t be too upset (as sad as it is), we’re in a place where we can do something about this and make sure we’re not weaker, we can be stronger if we make the right signings…

It’s terrible But it could be worse… at least we can sign players and Unai will improve the guys we have that can come in for Emi… A few need to step up… Signings on the way too… much worse if this happened mid season…

If he’s sticking around, we need him to step up… But I’m sure we’re going to sign players too… Oh man… I can’t shake the sadness over this, I really like Emi….
