  1. Kamara and Carlos looking really good imo. Ramsey and McGinn contributes with about 0, neither in attack or defence. And how Coutinho can be picked over Buendia is baffling.
  2. Unbelievable business if £15-20M is correct for an 18-teen year old with one year left on his contract and who hasn't shown much in first team football. Quite shrewd by Purslow to talk him up the way he did. I don't see how he will develop better and get more game time in Chelsea, they play a high tempo pressing football and Chuck is the opposite to that. I also think it's difficult to see what his position is, it's a bit like the same problem as with Pogba. Not a defensive midfielder, not dynamic enough to be a box to box, not fast and creative enough to be a 10. The best position for him is kind of a free role in the middle, I guess that's more of less what he has had in the youth teams. Don't think many teams nowadays can afford to have that kind of player who strives in a free mf role.
  3. That Scamacca guy that West Ham just bought for £35M looks like a real beast, would have loved to have him leading our front line.
  4. Didn't SG last season say that Luiz preferred to play higher up the pitch, as a no 8 rather than the holding mf. I read the state of play as Luiz is happy to be here and the club is happy to have him here but he want to play in another position in the long term and waits and see if we will offer him that, while being open to leave if not, hence no rush to sign a new contract. With us bringing in Kamara his chances of playing as a no 8 will increase. I don't think he is good enough as the no 8 though, not fast enough and not dynamic enough. If our mid three are supposed to play on a line as a shield for the defence, keeping possession and letting the full backs attack, then it would suit him.
  5. Gerrard said in the interview that his demeanour and body language was much better now, didn't know this was an issue, what was his demeanour and body language last season?
  6. Look at that arm, looks like he has bulked up a bit. Exactly what he needs, technically and footballing wise he seems to have what it takes at this level, but the physical part and the tempo is where he has struggled, hopefully he has beefed up and adapted now and is ready to go! He is a better footballer than McGinn imo.
  7. If he leaves I think it's the wrong decision and that he is badly adviced. He played quite much last season and didn't show enough to suggest he deserved to play more. If he thinks he can go to a better club and play more then dream on. He should be well thought of and welcomed back in the future, we should be proud of our academy, that we manage to produce and educated such talents. I understand a young mans head can be turned by the glamour and money of bigger clubs and that people around him want him to move as they probably profit on it, but still it's the wrong decision. He would have his best chances of developing here. If he goes I wont be too fussed. In comparision with Jack for example, you could see at that age that he was something special, he had exceptional technique and went past players like they weren't there. With Chuck I haven't seen anything in the first team that stands out really. In the academy games yes, but there his physique means it's like a man playing against boys. I'm sure he is a great talent, he has some quick feet and good vision, but he hasn't shown enough so far to warrant that he should play more, and if he thinks the club is not big enough for him, well bye bye and welcome back when you have grown up and got tired of playing in Barcelona B or loaned out for successive seasons.
  8. He looked to have a upturn in form after Dyche left, seemed to play with a bit more freedom and started to sparkle again, not sure what his exact position was but remember seeing him making runs in the central parts of the pitch more than just sticking to the wing. I wouldn't compare McNeil to Milner, Milner is more of a grafter, work horse with really good functional technique, McNeil to me is more of a flair player, creative with a sweet left foot, but quite slight built and I don't know how solid he is defensively. He wouldn't be my first choice, but at 15M could be worth giving a try, and I like the idea of him as a no 8.
  9. If Dwight McNeil is available for £15M I think we should consider him, I think he could do a job as a no 8 or as a cover for the wide forwards if we play that way. He wasn't super last year, and I think he has been a bit hyoed before, but at 15M I think it would be a good deal, and he is also only 22. he has got a sweet left foot and good technique, seems to create a lot. Being drilled under Dyche I think he could do his defensive duties as a no 8 as well.
  10. The two next to Gerrard looks frightening, sign em up!
  11. I see that man U are paying £57M for Lisandro Martinez, it's nice to see that Man U continue on their path of paying heavily over the top for their players!
  12. I'm not impressed with his passing and ball control, looks weaker than Karim El Ahmady in that aspect. Sangaré seems tall and strong, but no guarantee that he is that good defensively and copes with the tempo in the PL. If we want to move up the table I think we need a CM who is both good defensively and is a really good passer.
  13. I think we need another central midfielder, Kamara for all of how promising he seems, he is still untested in the PL, and we are one injury away from having the same midfield as last season. Imo the midfield is our weak spot.
  14. I really want us to sign Calvin Bassey, I think he would be perfect for us. Tall, strong, fast, good technique, young and can play in many positions. He could compete with Digne for LB, cover for Mings at LCB, even challenge Ramsey for the no 6 role. With Augustinsson coming in I guess we wont go for Bassey as I understand he is predominantly a LB. But please bring him in!
  15. I think it must be this one edit - oups already posted, well it deserves another mention!
  16. As Augustinsson is brought in as a replacement for Targett (the cover for digne), I think it's relevant to compare the two. Staying on target , I think he is one of the best LB:s we have had in a long time, solid defensively and a good passer, more of a classic LB than an attacking LB/WB that Gerrard likes though, so Augustinsson is probably a better fit in that aspect.
  17. You know his name is supermon not supermom, right?
  18. A big difference is that Targett is tested in the PL and is an established PL player, if Augustinsson will adapt to the physicality and tempo remains to be seen.
  19. I think Cajuste looks interesting as well, but perhaps a bit slow and labouring and not sure how high his ceiling is. Could we btw change the name of this thread to the Swedish national team transfer talk? Thanks!
  20. Palace signing Cheick Doucoure for £21M, weren't we linked to him earlier? Sounds a bit hefty with £21M, but Palace has done really well with their signings recently, will be interesting to see how he performs.
  21. As we are shopping around in the Swedish national team, is there any one else there you would like us to sign? I bet most clubs would fancy having Alexander Isak, but apart from him?
