  1. This was the worst I've seen us this season, looked uninspired, uninterested and sloppy. Can't believe the only change we made until the 72th minute was to swap positions of Gabby and Kodjia.
  2. I rate Brady but can't see the point in paying £10-15m for him, we have many players who can play in his position. We need midfielders as we only have one proper midfielder in Jedi, and he is a defensive destroyer. I'd rather we bought three £5m players from other championship clubs, one cb and two midfielders.
  3. I would say he and Gabby was at fault for the goal today, he just backed off and let Oliveira take a shot at goal. Not sure if he has some niggling injury or if he really is that slow. At the moment I would prefer Baker.
  4. Performs like you would expect a £3m defender from Bournmouth to perform.
  5. Dear Mr Bruce, Why the #¤%#! did you pick Gabby to play up front? When it didn't work, why didn't you take him off at half time? 15 min into the second half and it still didn't work, why didn't you take him off? On 62 min, when his heavy touch cost us a goal, why didn't you take him off? The minute after, when he takes another heavy touch in a similar situation, why didn't you take him off? When were losing and it still didn't work, why the #¤%#! did you wait until the 72th before you took him off?? Please give an explanation to why McCormack doesn't play more.
  6. It looks like a 4-1-4-1 formation to me. I can't really see what Agbonlahor contributes with. Kodjia is ruuing as much as gabby so why not have Kodjia up front, Grealish out to the left at McScoremack behind Kodjia? Westwood doesn't contribute much in his position either, but can't really see who we would bring on, Gardner is perhaps a slight upgrade, at least a threat on corners and with his shots. Elphick looks worringly slow... On the whole, many sloppy passes in the beginning, doesn't look focused or really up to it. I hope that Bruce gives them a bashing at half time... said that, if Kodjia would have passed the ball to Grealish on the two occations we would probably be one up...
  7. What is Sasa Curcic up to these days? He has probably aged with grace and could still do a job for us in the middle. I'd like to have an energetic and creative midfielder who is full of running.
  8. I agree that it was his best game in a long time. I was surprised to see him play in a role so far up the pitch, at times he was pressing as if he played as a forward. I wouldn't call it a free role but it was for sure a more attacking role than Jedinak's or Gardner's. What I don't really get is that if we play a player in that role, why not play Ayew or Grealish from the start who are better in that role?
  9. Could he please hire Chris Samuelson to have some role at the club?
  10. As I don't live in Birmingham I'm interested in knowing how/if you feel that the atmosphere at and around the club has changed since Lerner left. Towards the end of last season there were reports of a lot of staff having to leave, Remi Garde coming out and criticizing the lack of internal structure of the club etc. A lot of negativity. There was obviously a lot of positive vibes when Xia took over and Keith Wyness said he would improve staff morale with an open-door policy etc. I presume that the atmosphere at the club is better now, but does anyone have insights or reflections on this?
  11. Hats off, you were out early criticizing RDM and calling for a change. I was sceptic as we've had a sily number of mangerial changes over the last one and a half years and as I'm generally for giving managers time. Now having seen what Steve Bruce has done in this short time I can only be greatful that RDM was removed and that it happened relatively early. The game against Brighton was the first in many many years where I saw a well organized team with a proper shape and tactics, where the players knew their roles and worked hard during the whole game. Ever since McLeish (with some exceptions during Garde) we've had this horses for courses tactics that just doesn't give the team any identity and in my opinion won't work in the long term. Steve Bruce really seems to know what he is doing and I'm really glad to have him as our manager.
  12. "We've worked meticulously on the shape and organisation" - finally a proper manager!
  13. There were so many positives in today's match, but must say that Gardner was anonymous. I really want him to kick on and have an impact on the games. Bruce should demand a minimum of three pile driver shots from him each game.
  14. I slightly blame him for the goal as he let Murray run through. Otherwise this is exactly what I expected from Jedi. Just love watching him making our defensive half his own, winning headers, breaking up their play and organizing our team. More of the same please! As he is so dominant in this position I think we could afford having Grealish in a mid three.
  15. Are we free to fill in here I'd say "fit", "motivated" or "hungry".
  16. I disagree, when Ayew came on we started to get hold of the ball much more and started pressing them. Ayew (and Grealish) had a large part in this, he always wanted the ball, kept it, ran at the opposition, you could see how they backed off and had respect for him when he had the ball. He also had a couple of shots that were blocked and a couple of good passes and corners. I was about to come on here just to say that he did more in his first 5 mins than Gabby did during the whole game. Don't get me wrong, I was very pleased with Gabbys attitude and he did what Gabby does, that is headless running and not much constructive contributing. Completely different to Ayew who is a football player who can control the ball, run at the opposition with the ball and actually does pass it now and then. Gabby is good as a touch and go runner who now and then manages to fumble the ball in the net or sometimes score with quite good shots, but he is not contributing in build up play, gaining possession and creating chances. Having Ayew, Grealish, Adomah and Kodjia on the pitch is really exciting!
  17. Disappointed not to get 3 points, but very encouraged by the performance. Nice to see that we pressed and looked like the team most likley to score in the second half. When Ayew and Grealish came on we really showed our class! Between the 70th and 85th minute was as good as I have seen us play since I don't know when, Kodjia very unlucky not to score, did he hit the bar twice with headers? Loved to see Grealish play in the middle three, hope he continues to play there. Glad to see Baker score his first goal and I'm also starting to fall in love with Chester!
  18. Don't think I've ever seen the Tony thread this far down the list - need to bump it!
  19. Fair enough, I just feel that Oasis are more connected to Man C than just a singer in a band supporting a random team (Oasis songs being played as anthems at the games, Oasis inspired Man C t-shirts on sale, Oasis gigs at the stadium etc). It felt like being at Maine Road when I heard it being played at Villa Park...
  20. I know the Dr tweeted something about this, but I don't understand why we play a Man C song at Villa Park?
  21. I'd break the bank or sell off the whole stock of Lotus Health Group's glutamine to get Will Hughes from Derby.
  22. Not sure what a wankfest is, but if it's a party to praise GG after all the unfair critisism he's got - I'm all in, all night!
