    It’s turned into a nice weekend of football, Villa win again, small heath in the bottom three and manure’s ‘3-0 up and you f*****d it up’, could have done with a spurs loss in there too but that will have to wait for next weekend.

    Just the kind of performance and result we all wanted. Watkins, Konsa, Martinez, Rodgers, Bailey and Diaby all excellent. We looked like we might be struggling after the penalty but kept to the plan and scored our way back into it. This team doesn’t quit, and I firmly believe we are keeping this fourth place.

    Former Villan, Viktor Johannson, and Seb Revan both starting for Rotherham at home to small heath. Hope that lot from up the road help the Millers to the 3 points.

    If I wasn’t busy doing better things today I’d have quite enjoyed the 20 min drive to Rotherham to lend my support for the afternoon. Being the obsessed and rattled viler that I am.

    At the start of the season my aspirations for Villa were to qualify for Europe again, and go far in the ECL. We’ve done that already, and with a really bad string of injuries. What we have and will still achieve is brilliant, and even if we only finish 5th and get knocked out in the semis, I’ll still be really pleased with the season. Obviously I still want us to get fourth and win the ECL, I believe we will tbh. But if we don’t, it’s not the doom scenario that some are making out. Apart from possibly having to sell a player to provide spending room, I cannot see Watkins or Martinez asking to leave. We are a club on the rise, and they have both improved immensely under Unai. Everyone improves with Emery, that’s why we are now a very attractive proposition for players. We are not about to see a bunch of the first team kick off and demand to leave because we didn’t get Champions League at first time of asking.

    Looks like some of the houses on the adjacent Holte Road have already begun to be erased… a few more to go and the land is Villa’s! Mwahhahahah!
