    You can see he’s having to actually think when he’s moving off the ball. Might be that Pep makes him better positionally, but I just don’t think either of them are clever enough to achieve it. His team mates don’t trust him yet.

    Forget about Lange's smile, the size of his hands is alarming. The diameter of his wedding ring is the same as most family hatchbacks. This is a man who is used to handling firearms and assumes that he has one on his belt at all times.

    It really has been a position that we have struggled with for a long time. Trying to think of the players we have signed to remedy this problem position over the last decade and a bit: Moustapha Salifou Nigel Reo-Coker Jean II Makoun Karim El Ahmadi Ashley Westwood (maybe signed as a more offensive-minded player?) Carlos Sanchez Idrissa Gueye (would obviously come good elsewhere) Yacoubu Sylla Glenn Whelan Birkir Bjarnason Mille Jedinak I appreciate that the game has changed, players like Gavin McCann and George Boateng perhaps wouldn't get near a modern DM role, and Glenn and Jedi were lumps for the Championship , but it feels like a while since we've had confidence in that position.

    They’re too exposed. Like in our first season back in the prem’, they were just too exposed and would inevitably leak a goal or make an error. We can’t just roll out the red carpet in our midfield and let space open up. I’m sick of the weakness in the middle of the park.

    Think we need to move some players on. We can’t stockpile players like Trez and AEG. We need buyers for them. The key for me is moving Doug out of the 6 role and getting someone else in. Nakamba’s injury has really affected us and the system.
