    Read a different way: Preece has just seen Purslow in the Rag Market trying to get his phone unlocked & made all the wrong assumptions. You never know, Christian might go and get some rotisserie chicken on the way out or maybe even a sausage roll. Surprises galore at the Rag Market stall!

    There's a lot of work to be done in trimming the squad down to remove the 'bloat' that SG has mentioned. Steer, Hause, AEG, Fred, JPB, Davis have to be on that list. Mixture of sales and loans. Going to be challenging to get good deals for some of them

    If the 100k figure is accurate (a big 'if'), then he and his representatives aren't playing hardball: they know we'll never pay him that are are engineering a move away for him. It's a real shame that the brightest youngsters in the game are having poison dripped in their ears like this: he has so much potential but perhaps first proving some of the potential first in an adult game of football would be a good idea.

    I keep thinking about the danger of making wholesale changes to the team, but then realised that our longest serving players (currently active in the first team) are: McGinn, August 2018 Mings - January 2019 Hause - January 2019 Expand that the players currently on loan and you’ve got: Hourihane - January 2017 Kalinic - January 2019 Steer - July 2013 Loyalty / longevity really aren’t important to the modern game. At best, longevity has been redefined to mean ‘four years’! Shows the tremendous change in the club’s fortunes. Perhaps the change in manager was inevitable to help facilitate this transition.

    After sketching out the new starting eleven with Kamara and Carlos added, the centre forward position looks glaringly weak. I think Ings will go and Watkins will stick around. Archer will come back. But we need a big name here and this will be the biggest risk.
