  1. Collymore v Spurs, timed about 1:20 here. Hourihane v WBA (could pick a few of his, this is arguably the most important) And as per the post above, Der Hammer really didn’t do tap ins did he?
  2. Answering the question before last.
  3. Both Rowling and Linehan, am I right in thinking that they both started all this kinda innocuously…for want of a better word (Rowling with liking a tweet and Lineham with that IT Crowd episode) and they both essentially just doubled, tripled, quadrupled down from there? It comes across like they had a little bit of critical pushback in these early instances and then just went “Ah, **** it” and gone to town in their respective ways.
  4. Prior to today, when determining whether a result was “expected”. I think you knew that though…
  5. Ok this IS my last point and I accept it’s getting incredibly nuanced and frankly ridiculous and tedious (which I accept I have played my part). You chose 10 games. Add up the points for the previous 10 games for both clubs. Who has more - Sunderland or Blackburn? I make it Sunderland by a point. Therefore prior to today, Blackburn were in worse form over the period of time you chose. I understand you are making the point that Sunderland are playing in form that is more beatable. Fine. But if you’re going to do that, I would not try and showcase that choosing X amount of games where they still managed to accrue more points than the opposition in question. Sunderland have lost more in that time, they’ve also won more. Hope you had a nice Easter.
  6. I don’t really. But I assume you would agree with my point that a team who are on an even more dismal run, like Blackburn, might not be expected to rock up and win. Edit - I am also assuming you accept the point because you ignored it As say, I’m done with the conversation but feel free to reply if you wish.
  7. We could go back and forth on this and I’ve no great desire to do so, but when considering whether a result, regardless of the scoreline, is surprising, it’s probably worth bearing in mind the form of both sides. Sunderland haven’t been good, although three of their recent defeats have been against Southampton, Leicester and Norwich whom are all pushing for promotion. Perhaps not completely unexpected that they’d lose those and as such it could be argued the relatively good opposition has played their part. Blackburn’s form…well, prior to today it was 1 win in 18. So I’ll hold my hands up, I wouldn’t have thought they would win today against a side who had seemingly overcome their own bad run having picked up 4 points from their previous 2 games.
  8. I think a compromise would be something like photos of the person as a child wouldn’t be on display, but would be kept in a family photo album for the parents to reminisce privately.
  9. Sunderland won their previous game. Drew the one before that. Prior to those, yeah bad form. Nothing to suggest they were going to lose at home 5-1 to a team battling the drop though. Maybe I didn’t read the suggestion here, but I know I’ve seen “looks at Blackburn’s run in…they’re in the shit” type comments.
  10. They do. The point still stands. Blackburn were being spoken of as near certainties to drop because of their run in. I would assume that opinion may be modified after their result today.
  11. Annoying. But still quite possible. I’m sure people were saying Blackburn were done for.
  12. Echo a lot of the football comments. I don’t think I could name an entire first XI of any other club. Am happy to watch a game in a pub with a few mates, really it’s just background entertainment. The pantomime of it all amuses me. I can’t remember when I completely lost interest in actually playing football or any sport, but it was years ago, probably my early 20’s.
  13. I think a lot of my pub stories fall in the “You had to be there and had to be three pints in” category.
  14. Three analogue clocks around the house now with the new time.
  15. Bumping this never popular thread from the safety of having just beaten Wolves. At around the 1:25 mark…Paul Stancliffe, I ask of you, what the **** was that?
  16. Yeah I would say that that was one of our typically banana skin games successfully navigated (Brentford I would argue is the other). Spurs I think still have two in West Ham and Chelsea.
  17. Mid 40’s has been sufficient for survival in recent years, although in 19/20 Charlton went down on 48. After 39 games they were 18th on 45 points.
  18. Maybe it’s wishful thinking but I don’t know, I wouldn’t be massively shocked if they only won one more match. They’re failing to pick up anything against relegation rivals (QPR, Millwall) they’re failing to pick up anything against midtable potentially on the beach sides (Boro, Watford)…if it was another club I think I’d be saying they’re my pick for the drop. I feel like Wednesday and Huddersfield have it in them slightly more to pick up a surprise win. sha are looking bereft at the moment. But yeah, they probably will fluke it again. I do feel like there is more chance of it happening this season than I did the last time they were in this position.
  19. Maybe, I don’t know. I think Coventry will beat them. I’m not at all convinced they’ll win at Huddersfield. So that leaves them with Cardiff, Rotherham and Norwich. Rotherham, yeah 3 points. Cardiff are very midtable and Norwich I think it will depend if they need something from the final day.
  20. Still outside the drop zone, but it’s another game they probably looked at as a strong potential for points and another failure. One point from their last seven games. Play off chasing Preston next followed by faltering Leicester.
  21. True (well, I assume you are correct re the coefficient stuff). I want fourth.
  22. Only watched the first two series. I often think about the people who won the first series of Hunted, watching subsequent series where the winners had up to £100k as a prize.
