    343 is working. It's a great formation. Wolves used it last season and still. Chelsea won with it with Conte. My feeling is many are obsessed (emotive word) with 2 up front and don't appreciate the ramifications. It's a 352 for me which I don't like. I think the 343 solution has solved the problem we've had with allowing ridiculous amount of chances conceded under 433 and that's borne out by the stats. Smith is a 433 man but he's not too obstinate to realise something needed changing and the results speak for themselves

    He does what he's good at and best for clearances per game in the PL. I get the retention argument but my whole 37 years of playing football I believe in if in doubt kick it clear. We've not won or drawn games from people being cute. Mings vs Arsenal just one that springs to mind

    That's the point I keep making regards some of the signing rumours. The new board has a long term plan. They're not going to upset the apple cart bringing in a loan player or buy a player on huge wages. We have to get to that stage over several seasons. No more crazy paying Bolasie wages for a season. I actually believe he had good intentions and went back early because he knew himself he wasn't fit enough

    The only ones allegedly on around that were Kodjia Lansbury Hogan Grealish. I don't have a clue about Mings Wesley Luiz etc. Club doesn't have to disclose wages to public do they? It's a private company. Just total wage bill accessible?

    I think the only positions up for question assuming everyone fit are Reina vs Nyland (Reina if calf ok) Luiz vs Drinkwater (Luiz earned start after Cup game) Samatta vs Davis (both will see minutes. Smith may decide start Davis) AEG vs Trez (I prefer AEG threat)

    Mainstream sources said he doubled his wages when he signed 5 year deal in Sept 2018 to around 40k per week. I don't know of any other add on arrangements

    I think garbage options relative to cost/age loan/buy for the club. Too many people think getting a player is like popping to the corner shop for a carton of milk. I thought Higuain was a garbage loan for Chelsea because some players can't cut it in PL I couldn't care less about their reputation Also I think 90% of rumours this window have been made up garbage

    We're conceding less chances on the left since he's been starting. 81 on left side conceded game weeks 1-16 and 27 conceded game weeks 17-24. Interesting. 2nd in the PL for clearances per game 6.6 3rd in PL for shots blocked. Mings is 1st I'd say you're being harsh
