  1. Yeah I just noticed that too, how embarrassing to not have a single attack shown in the three minutes Sky highlights! :s There must be about ten of ours though, nice!
  2. Great stuff. And this sentence just reminded me of the great Ron Manager from The Fast Show! He used to talk a bit like that.
  3. Wow, so the last two league games with Boro at Villa Park were draws, and the last three away were Villa wins!
  4. I felt quite optimistic before last night's game against Forest, maybe actually a bit more than I do about this Saturday's against Middlesbrough, because Middlesbrough must be sick of us, they'll be out for revenge! :s Revenge for us winning three of the last four games with them, especially 3-nil at theirs and knocking them out of the play-offs. So that might be dangerous. Come on Villa!!!
  5. Ha! Well that'll teach you for scoring 5 at our place!
  6. Pele?! Oh no!! He sounds worryingly good. : (
  7. Good! Phew!! What a relief after he ruthlessly ruined our comeback in the reverse fixture, the meanie. :<
  8. Nice! It's exactly the team I wanted. Come on you lions!
  9. Thanks Tractor Boys and Paul Lambert! Well done! Their 1-1 draw at Bristol City tonight is another little bonus for us going into the game tomorrow, even more incentive than there was already. Come on Villa! Please stay on track.
  10. Are West Brom's shirts made from actual Tesco bags?
  11. If small heath alliance ever get back into the Premier League, do you think they'll change their name to Big Heath Alliance?
  12. Well, at least results went very well for us today with Bristol City losing and Derby only drawing, and both at home too. That keeps us with a slim chance still (which is better than no chance at all), at least for about another 13 hours, but hopefully longer!
  13. I've got a feeling this time that they're finally going to break their dismally long run of not beating us, but... if we manage to beat them again we could easily find ourselves just three points off the play-offs... because Bristol City have a really tough game tomorrow, against Leeds. Derby might lose too, you never know! They've got Sheffield Wednesday.
  14. I was on the OS just now and watched this interview, he comes across as a really likeable guy, down to earth, honest, modest. And like nearly all Dutch people his English is brilliant! (Although when he said the Villa fans were "shouting" that's a bit ambiguous. In a nice way or a bad way?! I guess he meant cheering). He's quick, isn't he, which is great... wow, he left those three defenders for dead, as if he was Roadrunner. Let's hope he scores again soon, another cracker or a sitter tap-in, any goal will do.
  15. Uncle Albert!!! Finally! He's finally scored a goal again, his first of the season.
  16. But after the miserable first 20 minutes against Sheffield United I thought we were going to "start on the front foot" with high intensity this time. What happened to that plan? We need to start games better.
  17. Aaargh! 22 minutes, zero shots of any description again, rubbish start again, 36% possession. Aston Villa... nul points.
  18. Thanks, I just found the goals for that game on Dailymotion but they're in this order: Norwich, Villa, Villa, Villa, Norwich, Norwich. But then I see what you mean, your worldfootball.net source does make it look like we were 3-0 down. Hmm.
  19. I can't forget that terrible nightmare match, watching it in a bar in Lima on Fox Sports, it was October 2007, we were 4-1 up and cruising with just 20 minutes to go. When Spurs equalised in the 90th minute I must have looked so crushed, the kind barman looked genuinely sad for me and said sorry. That game is definitely in my five worst, most painful Villa feelings ever. I prefer yesterday, the other way round!
  20. Blimey. My dearest Sheffield United, I feel so very sorry for you for blowing your 3-0 lead in the last ten minutes... not !!! Right... so do any fellow stats nerds out there, or non-nerds, know when we last managed a comeback from 3 goals down in the league? I can't remember a single time and I've been following Villa since I was five, way back in 1979. I'd sadly resigned myself to the fact that we're just a rare club that never ever pull off a three or more goals comeback and probably never would in my lifetime! : ( But Andre Green has put that right, good lad! : )
  21. Still three more sleeps. :< Wish the game was about to start now! Sometimes the next match seems to take ages to come round. McGinn needs a bit more luck than last Saturday, it's been quite a long time since he scored, hasn't it. And if only Uncle Albert could get his first of the season! :s
  22. Today I was happy to see Green back partly because he reminded me of Baron Greenback (from Danger Mouse. And his pet caterpillar Nero).
  23. Regarding Albert, it's frustrating, given that he did offer enough going forward in the first half of last season. And as a result I think he scored about eleven or twelve in the whole season so he must have been one of our two top scorers along with Grabban. So basically we need our first half of last season Adomah back.
