  1. Hopefully we win wycombe, which would make us unbeaten in four games (with 2 wins (IF we are able to win wycombe)). Then we might see some confidence come back to the players, our next three league games are winnable.. decent results in those three matches then who knows what will happen..
  2. did not know that How embarrassing is it to let a player get a one on one directly from a goal kick..
  3. They keep changing the rule, I have no idea what is longer xD can you not be offside from a goal kick ?
  4. How is no one noticing that Vardy is miles offside in the goal ? they keep showing it on replay, and they are only talking about Okore.. wtf
  5. Net transfer spend of £8 million. Every player signed gets a sign on fee too. For example Ayew got a rumored £2million. So you can expect the net spend to be closer to £20 million than £8milion. And for a club that has been making losses every season for ages it is quite incredible that we are able to spend more than we make.
  6. Is he left footed or right footed? we always seem to use our left footed defenders on the left side of the back (which would mean he takes Lescott's spot). If he is right footed he will challenge Okore and Richards for their place.
  7. This was the performance we were all asking for, the performance we needed, fight, passion, every time we lost the ball at least 2 players went sprinting to win it back ! Hopefully it will continue and maybe this victory will help Garde in buying a player or two to the Villa ! Great game + we won ! good job Garde, starting 11 spot on. Just hope that Hutton and co. stay away for a while !
  8. Man of the match again today, love the player, fights like a proper lion.
  9. Was bad with the ball and all, but how refreshing was it to see a striker actually move,, made such a difference and has to be a starter from now on. Him, Ayew and Veretout and all the players showed so much passion and fight, such a relief.
  10. I agree, Kozak may not be particularly good, but he can't be worse than Gestede, no one can be worse than Gestede at the moment
  11. It may be, but at least we are trying to change things, I've had enough of the average players on high wages. I wan't the team to be bigger than the manager, so that they are easily replaced, I wan't the managers to adapt to Villa, not Villa adapt to every single manager in the world. Which is what Fox and co. are trying to achieve. Create a style that every manager has to abide by. Though it is not going specifically well at the moment I don't disagree about Moyes, wouldn't mind him.
  12. The problem with Alardyce, Moyes, Pearson and so on, is that they may well do a better job than Garde in the current situation, but Garde was appointed for the long term, to clean up the mess and start something new. Alardyce, moyes and Pearson would all throw Gabby right back in and buy 5 more Lescotts/N'zogbias/Senderos/Coles, who the next manager would want to remove again. Garde is here to remove those types of players and try to start a new club philosophy. Though I have not been impressed with him so far.
  13. Yes, because all good teams in the league play with wingers that defend.just look at Utd. second best defense in the league, Mata is their right winger and he is so brilliant defensively. Not to forget the best defense in the league, Tottenham, with Lamela or Eriksen helping the right back all game. too be honest, I think I see Gil (even though he may do shit all) in the back third helping out more than any of mata, lamela, walcott or whoever. Right back, Left back are priorities for us to sign. Though I also feel we need wingers that do something in attack, a striker and a goalkeeper, then maybe we won't get relegated to league 1 next season.
  14. The thing is, awful finishing, but at least he got in to the positions. We have no other players that would have gotten in to those positions.
  15. Maybe that is because we have a shit team that Sherwood helped build ? you can't expect a manager to come in to a shit team and suddenly turn them in to professionals.
  16. That may very well be true xD Bacuna has been suprisingly okay at left back. Okore also has to stay in the team.
  17. The last two games Richards played were against Everton (4 goals conceded) and Watford (3 goals). May be harsh looking at just the two last games, but I see improvement, though far from perfection.
  18. Our defense in my opinion has been better since Richards' injury. Even though he has been one of our better players this season, force him to play right back so that Jores can continue playing in the center. Excited to see how good Okore can get if the continues to get game, he must be easy to play with at center back, as last season Clark partnered him and look good but has looked crap since Okore's injury, this season Lescott has become A LOT better since becoming Okores center back partner.
  19. £6.5m seems like a lot of money for nothing more than a decent 29 year old. Would probably be one of our "better" players, but I think we can do better.
  20. Jack Grealish is suffering from second season syndrome, which so many youngsters go through. When he started playing last season he will have been so full of confidence and been so exited to play which has given him that something special. Confidence starts going to his head and the excitement he got from playing matches disappears, then the next season he starts badly and the confidence is battered, going down to a new low. The second season syndrome happens to youngsters, foreigners that arrive in new country and new teams that get promoted. They have that something special because they have that buzz of having to impress and excitement. Grealish has talent, hopefully this season he can get his head straight, then kick on from there. I'll judge him next season. The talk about selling him is just mental. Usually when a team has a talented youngsters they gradually give them more and more game game time, whilst doing their best keeping them out of the limelight. Too much confidence in young players will destroy them, confidence must be earned. This is why I thought Sherwood's handling of Grealish was awful, throwing him straight in the first team and making him believe he is the best player in the world. As soon things go against him that confidence will explode. He can, if he works hard, get out of this little rot stronger than before.
  21. Runs an incredible amount and seems very intelligent on when to make runs. Always seems to be open on the right side when we attack, but I do honestly believe that this is because of tactics from the oppositions. He is so bad with the ball and has the worst crosses I have seen for ages, the other teams probably want us to pass the ball out to him and press us and leave him open, because they know that when he gets the ball we will not get anything out of it. I sometimes have a think about who is worse technically and at kicking Hutton or Guzan. The biggest problem for me with Hutton is that he was always quite reliable, but lately he makes at least a mistake a game. Penalty today and his first 15 minutes vs Southampton were awful. When Micah Richards is fit, I would throw him in at right back. Okore and Lescott seem to be working alright together and Bacuna is our best option at left back at the moment.
  22. Nothing to do with the topic, but talking about Champions league, I love how ManU fans are complaining to ME how shite and boring THEY are.. effin glory hunters, would do a lot to see Villa be where they are.. They would probable not have one fan left if they were in our situation..
  23. No, it is that outside the top 6 money is not what decides where you finish. As I said, the numbers I got where not significant, meaning that the wage budget could not explain anything outside the top 6 that season. I've used the same numbers that the article you quoted did, so if I can't prove my point using one season, then neither can you. My point was to show that statistics can be very misleading and that money is not the reason we are where we are.
