  1. Because the midfielders have nothing to aim for, we have no outlet. We could play for days and we would not be able to score, none of our players look like they are capable or even interested in scoring. Desperate for something to aim for up front. edit: take that back, Lescott should be our striker
  2. I wish this was football manager, can't believe that Remi will last 14 more games, he will leave, you would have to be insane to continue being our manager. If this was football manager, Remi could just go on holiday, relax and save any effort and frustration. Hate all our players and I hate the board and I hate Lerner
  3. Feel for Garde, can't remember a Villa team that actually looked organized. We just have awful players and an awful board. SOOOOOO DEPRESSING
  4. yea, must admit, his comments confused me xD to many negatives for one sentence for me to understand But I do agree that I wish we had signed someone, but just don't think it is as simple as people think. And don't think lack of money spent is the reason we are where we are.
  5. Remi must have got some help if he had tried to sign players, "I cannot say the club hasn't done everything they could. It wouldn't be fair. " showing that they have tried something. I think we have a better chance of staying up now than before January, as January has been our best month point wise so far this season. Looking better does not mean great and when we go down we loose the tv money, it will hurt. badly. But if Fox is to be believed it is sustainable at the moment, this does not mean there is a lot of money to spend.. There are a few teams lower down the leagues (championship and further down) that have been in trouble because of the FFP. But I think it worries us most because the club has been so badly run these last years. Just look at the loses the club has made the lasts years, it's numbers that Bolton and Portsmouth would be proud of. Leicester bought Kramaric, but they were just promoted, less damaging for them to get relegated as they had not grown to be dependent on the tv money.
  6. Our squad is still more expensive than Stoke's, Crystal Palace's, West Brom and Swansea and it cost about the same as Everton. We may have lost 4 good players (Cleverly sucks and we were better when Vlaar didn't play), but when you have assembled a squad that cost about £128 million you should still have a squad good enough to stay in the division. The reason we were nearly relegated last season and the seasons before that was because we wasted most of the money we spent then too. We spent more money than we made, it's just unrealistic that we would spend much more and it is plain to see that we at least tried to sign some players this month, Kalinski, Debuchy, Remy, Doumbia, Sane, Inler and so on. People just need to be realistic, we are as good as relegated, we can't go and spend silly money as we are already making a enormous loss this season and players aren't interested in joining us. The best way to get back up again as soon as possible is to be smart about it, at the moment they say we can afford to go down (we don't have to sell any players), if we went out and bought 3 players on big wages, then we would have to sell players in the summer if we were to dream about getting past the financial fair play. Also show me another club in the league, that has an owner that has pumped as much money into the club as Aston villa (except for City and Chelsea). We have spent unrealistic enormous sums since he came in and have just wasted it year after year. I would argue we have spent too much and that is why we are where we are, not because we haven't spent enough. Owners aren't allowed to pump money into the clubs the same way anymore, it's illegal. It's not the money that is the problem, it's that Lerner did not hire anyone with any football knowledge at all to help run the club. I just don't get how people think we can spend unlimited amounts of money, it has to be generated somewhere from. And if anyone here argues that the £50million+ spent this summer wasn't totally wasted, then please look how all the other clubs spent half of what we did and look at how much more quality they were able to buy. (Southampton last season sold all of their assets and spent £30million less than than they sold for, they improved, they spent about £60million selling for £90million)
  7. And they are obviously willing to spend money now, as Doumbia rejected us for Newcastle, rumours have it Debuchy rejected us to and Kalanic failed to get a work permit. The club has to be realistic, we are nearly for certain going down, we can't be signing players for ridicules money or wages, as we can't afford it in the championship, we are already making losses, can't afford to make much more losses. For us to be able to sign any decent player now, we would have to give them huge contracts or let them go for losses when we are relegated. I don't think we spend enough, I wish we had spent 10x what we have, it is just not possible to do, as we are limited in the amount we have, but when the club is not able to sustain what it is uising, it is quite incredible we are even able to spent what we are. And the amount we have spent the last 5 seasons + the wages we hand out are all mid table, which should be enough to keep the club away from the bottom three. It's been mismanagement all the way, not the amount that has been spent.
  8. But what money were we supposed to use? Aston Villa Football Club is making losses every season, we have been making losses every season since Lerner bought the club. We simply can't be spending money we don't have, we will fail financial fair play and the club will go bankrupt. Only Liverpool, Chelsea, Man Utd and Man City spent more money that we did in the summer. We had a higher net spend than, Swansea, Arsenal, Southampton, Tottenham and stoke in the summer according to sky, Swansea, Southampton and Stoke just spent their money decently and pulled further away from us. The amount of money spent these last seasons should be more than enough too keep the club from relegation, (according to some tabloids we have the 12th most expensive team we also according to tabloids spend 12th most on wages) And I don't think anyone is expecting every signing to be a bargain, but when you buy 12 players, you'd expect that more than one would be a success/Bargain, to be honest, non of the players signed in the summer will be sold on for a profit at the moment (though I believe Amavi and maybe Ayew could possibly turn into bargains one day). The money has been wasted extremely badly
  9. We can blame Lerner for a lot, we can blame the board for a lot, but we cannot blame them for not spending money (except for maybe this window).
  10. I think everyone is pulling numbers out of the air. But there are signing on fees, which are high + sky high agent fees, especially for free transfer players. No one has any idea what we have really spent, the bottom line is that we have, without a doubt, spent more than we have made. Which is quite incredible for a team that makes losses every single season. We simply just can't blame the amount. £50m should be enough to build a team from scratch and survive. £50m is more than the entire bournemoth, Norwich and Watford teams, it's about the same as the entire Leicester team. Just don't understand how people expect a failing company to keep on spitting out money, where is that money supposed to come from ? there is a financial fair play rule that prevents the owner from spitting in too much money and he has put in a A LOT of money. It's just been wasted every time.
  11. I really try not to hate this man, he really wanted what was best for us, he has spent so much money on the club it is ridiculous. But just every decision he makes is the wrong one, he has made so many mistakes it's unforgivable. If he has just swallowed his pride a little bit in the start and hired a proper staff, players that knew football and could give proper advice, then we would probably be a top team today. But he really has put a lot of cash in the club, just sad it's been wasted so much.
  12. Net TRANSFER spend may have been £6millions, but every player signed also has a signing on fee, for example Ayew got a rumored £2million and Richards will have been paid a hell of a lot more. Our net spend is therfore closer to £20million than £6million, Which is a decent amount considering how much of a loss this club is making every year. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the amount we spent, it's just how we spent it.
  13. I agree with Birtles, the lack of ambition in this must win is embarrassing. Never more than one player in the box, 3 central midfielders that are half a sleep in the midfield, a draw today is the equivalent to a lose. We might has well just think **** it and go for the **** win.
  14. so frustrating ! PLEASE CAN WE HAVE MORE THAN ONE PLAYER IN THE BOX, we did it twice vs. Wycombe and scored both times. FFS this is frustrating me !
  15. Kozak has been awful, but why why why not go 2 up top, there is never more than one player in the box for us ! we might as well lose as draw, it makes no difference ! please please please sttart showing some ambition and attack
  16. The amount of money that Lerner has invested should be more than enough, as he said, 3rd highest in the last 10 seasons, the problem at the club is that we continuously waste every pence we spend,
  17. May teach villa something, when you have players in the box when the crosses come in, you might score
  18. Westwood should be banned from shooting, worst shots in the world
  19. Doesn't sound like Lyden is having the best game.
  20. I thought he was one of our best players vs. Palace ? Worked hard, good passes and so on.
  21. The way the match panned out today was just not suitable for players that like to pass it along the ground, therefore Veretout and Gil were both very poor. Won't criticize him for one bad match, especially as he has been one of our better players lately.
  22. True, but after 22 games it should not be possible to get 33.33% of the points in two games
  23. I agree,, I also think that if we got two pacey wingers (Townsend,Lennon type) in instead of playing Gil/Grealish we would be in a much better position, it would suit our current strikers well.
  24. Should start against Wycombe too, if he manages to score, it might give him some confidence.
  25. 33.33% of our total points this season are from our last two games xD depressing shiet.
