    Under Bruce we never knew which Villa were going to turn up. One week we would beat Wolves the next we would lost to QPR. It doesn’t fee that way with Smith. Long may it continue!

    Good post. After Leeds game I think we can achieve 7 wins out of 7. The fixtures are a lot kinder. Similar to what we did last season.

    Whilst we need new full backs you can’t blame Hutton for that goal. Phillips ran from the half way line to get in that position and Kodija just stood there. To be fair for him it’s not his natural position but 2 minutes to go he has to be doing his bit.

    Kodija was a disgrace for that goal. He stands there watching Philips and it only seems to register in his mind that he needs to get back when Philips was about to cross the ball. He just blew his chance for a start on Saturday.

    Really wasn’t to be that day. Keep playing well and things will balance our for us. It stinks we are playing catch-up but it is what it is.

    On paper they are one of the best teams in the league. They are getting it together now and go ahead of us if they win.

    Stoke unbeaten in 7 now. It’s going to be a hard game next week.

    To be honest I couldn’t care what was said about the past regime. There seems to be a lot of things that weren’t done well under our previous owners / management. Keeping on topic. I expected Leeds and Norwich to win today. They both had games that promotion contenders would expect to win. Just saw Bolton have scored. Bad result for Norwich!

    He’s the one that said he apparently put weight on. I didn’t have any problem with his fitness.

    I was saying to my Leeds fan yesterday how lucky they are to be the only team to have scored a goal from a blatant handball. He countered with they haven’t had a penalty all season. What happens next...

    Me too and it’s felt like we’ve had to do that since Smith took over to get us back in the mix and most of our games have been against promotion contenders. But in realty once we get in to Jan we just have to beat all those teams below us and then can afford to drop points against better teams. Im looking at our future after the leeds games and they are all games we are now expected to win. I’m talking 7 out of 7. What would be really disappointing is after getting points against teams like Derby, Boro and Albion we then go and drop points against teams like Ipswich, Wigan and Reading.

    It was a mini leagues for the top half teams but based on their matches against each other’s . The second mini league was based on the top halves teams matches against bottom half teams. It was brilliant!

    Mate he was awful when he joined. Wasn’t anywhere near ready. You can tell he has worked hard with Smith to be up to the standard required. I never thought he was crap. Just didn’t think he was playing anywhere near well enough and needed to be dropped. I’m delighted he is showing how good he is now.

    Whilst I think the criticism of him has been OTT lately I’ll be the first to admit when you put him against a very good winger he really struggles. Luckily for us they’re aren’t many very good wingers in this league but it’s still an area we could strengthen.

    You’re right. He is better on instinct which suggests it’s an area of his game he can work on?. We can’t forget he is only 21. He can only get better.

    @BOF had a brilliant spreadsheet that showed league placing based on oppositions league placing. If only we could see this seasons equivalent. I think it would show how well we are currently doing.under Smith.
