  1. Apparently in talks with Reading. What happened to him?
  2. Sorry. Didn’t realise you were just responding to someone about it.
  3. My cousin sends me some random stat about their superb records after every Liverpool win. I even got an imagine of Jota after he scored his first goal. Since Sunday I sent one imagine of the Grim Reaper at doors which isn’t even an attack at Liverpool. I got some shit Paisley quote about how teams celebrate victory’s against Liverpool and do laps of honour. The bitterness amazes me!
  4. With all due respect mate are you seriously still going on about this? Does it really matter? We’ve got one of the best players we’ve seen wear a villa shirt since we finished 6th. Who gives a shit if it ends up only being for one year!?
  5. At first yes. Now the bitterness is starting to show from some.
  6. That’s true, we were lucky with the deflections. But on the other hand we missed at least 3 very big chances so It kind of balanced out. Overall we had 16 attempts on goal with 12 on target! It could have been worse for Liverpool.
  7. So much good has rightly been pointed out about Sunday but one thing that really impressed me is how the team defended even when 7 goals up. They were still playing like their live theirs depended on it and desperate not to concede. Excellent to see!
  8. Let’s not get carried away mate. Man U started like this last season and Liverpool are still way too good to not be challenging for the title.
  9. It’s why I wish we were playing them now instead of in January when they’ve had time to get their shit together and we’ve probably got a load injuries after the crazy Christmas period.
  10. Yes it would have to be a short term deal and I suspect he’d also have to take a substantial pay cut. Which is why it’s not going to happen.
  11. I think that’s how desperate the situation up front is. I would rather us maybe have a fit Wellbeck on the bench than having to rely on Davis or a player out of position. For the record I do not want us to sign Wellbeck and I do not for a second think we even will. I just don’t think it would be end of the world if we decided to as a last minute free.
  12. I agree with this. Another young centre half from the championship who will provide cover this season and challenge for a place next season. That lad in defence for Stoke looked useful.
  13. Trez and Targett are very good squad players and probably will be next season. Wellbeck wouldn’t be the worst signing in the world as a squad player. Nobody is suggesting for a second he should be signed to improve the first team!
  14. If Wellbeck would accept sensible wages he wouldn’t be the worst squad player in the world. He actually looked half decent near the end of the season. Cracking overhead kick against Norwich. edit: more chance of him scoring a goal than Davis.
  15. Whilst we jest this is kind of what Leicester did. Had a fantastic start to the season and everyone kept saying they will drop points soon etc etc. But the only way that would happen is if they lost any one of Huth, Morgan, Mahrez, Kante, Drinkwater and Vardy for a lengthy period. If I remember correctly this core managed to play pretty much every game. The rest is history.
  16. I think Sunday showed no matter how good your squad is if you lose one or two key players you will suffer. I think our problem is if we lost any one of Martinez, Jack, Ollie, Mcginn, Cash Luiz, Konsa, Target or Mings we become significantly weaker. If we lost more than one of them at the same team we go from a top 10 team to avoiding relegation. It’s just how it is and why the bigger clubs with a bench that could get in to most first times will always do well. Hopefully we can have some luck with injuries and suspensions this season.
  17. They are not going to leave because they’ll have to take a pay cut. They’ll be with us until their contracts end.
  18. Yes it does. Players like Luiz and Trezeguet visibility used to get affected when the fans got on their back. When ever we got the ball the crowd would urge us to attack at a million miles an hour leading to us to trying to force the issues and usually messing it up. Very good players can handle big crowds and even relish it. Players that have a lot of potential but are still a work in progress can suffer from the pressure. I honestly thought we would we be massively disadvantaged without the crowd but it’s turned out to be the other way around. Crazy.
  19. I said the doubters would fall in love with him after one game. Such a quality player. Only criticism is he should have had a hatrick!
  20. He seems like the kind of guy that’s wife made him stay in Germany. He’s missed out on winning the Premier League!
  21. Sky bet should have made a market for this one. Could have made a killing off Villa fans.
  22. I hate this thread. Thankfully it will be finally close tonight....but will it?
