We’ve got a very good first 11 now. If there were areas that could be improved it would be Trez and Targett. Doesn’t make them bad players or scapegoats. It just means we’re heading in the right direction. Fans need to stop being so sensitive.

The thing is the odd player having to come in to best 11 significantly weakens us with the odd exception. But to be fair its probably the same for more than 50% of the league. As you say it’s a gradual year on year progression.

I do wonder how much of an influence Shakespeare has had. We do seem to be playing the way Leicester did when they won the league. Not having as much of the ball but looking deadly when we win it back.

I watched it with my mate who’s a Leeds fans so has no bias and even he asked me who he was in the first half and said he looked a bit lost and knackered at times. So it’s not just us.

Whilst this is true in the case of many players I think with Trez he just didn’t look on the same level as the rest of our attacking players because of how high we’ve raised the bar. McGinn, Luiz, Barkley, Grealish and Watkins are top players. Trez is doing superb and did an excellent job. Deserves to stay in the team. Saying he isn’t on the level of the players mentioned isn’t a criticism. It’s a testament to how far the club has come.

Quality player. A couple of times in first half he got isolated and dealt with it well. Looking a bargain already.

If I had to find a scapegoat after Sunday I’m afraid it would still have to be Trez. Not because he didn’t play well because he did and I also really like the guy. But he didn’t look on the same level as the rest of the team. Shows how far we have come. edit: I only used the term scapegoat to keep with the theme of the page. Keeping on topic. Everton now favourite to sign King.

Looking at the Fleetword team a lot of the players were 20 years of age or under. Did our youngsters just get comfortably beaten but theirs?

If the options were loan him with no option to buy or lose out on in him for a season I think we know what 90% of fans would have chosen. If we didn’t loan him somebody else would have.
