  1. It’s crazy fans are talking about needing an upgrade on Mings. What we need first and foremost is a centre half that can come in and do a job if either Mings and Konsa get injured because at the moment if either of them do we are screwed. Then we can think about spending the big money on an upgrade.
  2. Yep. No coincidence Jack didn’t have the best of games. But a slightly jaded Luiz and Mcginn didn’t help.
  3. Really? I think Jack aside he is the best player we have. He will be massively missed over the next month or so.
  4. Give me a break mate, he came on after 2 minutes.
  5. Hope he’s available for Wolves. Really want to do them over this season.
  6. I agree with this. Not sure why Mings is the only one getting blamed. That incident aside I don’t think he was that bad.
  7. I’ve been impressed with his ability to run with the ball out wide. At one point he put a peach of a cross in which was begging to be finished by Ollie himself! Also watching back the goal line clearance I don’t think he bottled it. We’ve already seen how he throws himself at headers. I think he thought the ball was going in so left it. In hindsight he should have thrown himself at it. I do think he should have done better to get on to Jacks cross on the break. He was in a better position for it then White. The defender should have had to go through him to get the ball so it was either a goal or a penalty/red card.
  8. Not his best game today. Complete hyperbole to say he is our weak link in defence and needs replacing.
  9. I don’t actually think he is so I don’t agree it was a manager **** him. He gets the information he needs on the fitness of the players to make a decision. If he’s told they are fit enough to play then they should play. I would have started both of them too.
  10. I don’t think he knew either. Was a bizarre moment with the way it was cleared too.
  11. He got a bit crowded out today as sole attacker against 3 centre halves so had to keep coming out wide. Problem was there was nobody to get in to the box to fill the space he would leave. Something Barkley would normally do.
  12. He did seem our most dangerous player and the most likely to score. Didn’t stop all game. Should have earned us a penalty too. The open goal miss was criminal though.
  13. Yeh I don’t get how that happens. It was like how Liverpool defended against us. We’re not good enough to be having that high a line just yet.
  14. In one off games yes. Over a season you’d maybe expect your average xG to more or less reflect your league position.
  15. No it wasn’t, there was 19 minutes still to play.
  16. I’m undecided by the penalty. But the fact is the ref gave it and it wasn’t a clear and obvious enough of an error to overturn it. That’s what is really annoying. Var is there to assist referees if there is a clear and obvious error. That wasn’t one so he should not have been asked to look at it again!
  17. Wow, the extremes of fans. After Arsenal he was a hero, now fans are worried about him. I understand criticism of him when it’s deserved but today the one thing we were guilty of was not taking our chances. He can’t control that. Im not buying he should have played Nakamba and Hourihane. They are just not good enough and any fan that isn’t always trying to find something to moan about would admit that too.
  18. Luiz and Mcginn were jaded but i think even not full fit they are better than the alternatives. Conner and Nakamba are just not got enough and had they both played I’ve not doubt we would have still struggled in the middle. Thats the problem we have.
  19. I thought he did ok. You can tell he is going take a while to get completely up to speed with this league but he is still better than anything else we had on the bench.
  20. Did he touch the ball after coming on? In fact did you even watch the game?
  21. As I said on the match thread ref felt he had to overturn it because VAR told him to look at the screen. Had he not given it the same would have happened but he would overturned his original decision of not giving it and everyone would have said correct decision by VAR. Some very odd refereeing as always.
  22. Nah we’ll stay up. Wont even be in the scrap. I bet If the ref hadn’t given it and VAR made him have another luck he would have then decided to give it.
  23. Teams are scoring some cracking finishes against us. Bet March never does that with his right foot again in his career.
