I’ve kind of contradicted myself. We were too attacking and open against Leeds. We should have played like we did the previous games rather than trying to out play them.

Dean Smith set us up to defend and break against Fulham Liverpool and Leicester. Just look at the possession stats of all three game’s. (Maybe not so much Leicester as they set us up same way which helped). It worked for all 3 games. Why we played so open against Leeds I have no idea. I think the hype got to the players heads.

Well exactly this. He didn’t think we should change the way he would like us to play against a newly promoted team. Like a lot of clubs this season will think and probably pay the price for it. In hindsight it was a mistake. We didn’t give them the respect they deserved. We’ll learn from it. But we have changed the way we play to adopt to the opposition many times so we could have done it again. A lot of people seem to hate the Bielsa love fest (which just comes across as bitter in my opinion) but they are one club that will never change the way they play no matter who they face. That’s why i found it so disappointing we didn’t react to that. It’s not like we didn’t know what to expect.

The thing is Wolves have been playing this way for the past 2 years so they train week in week out to be a defensive counter attacking team. Whilst the style is effective I don’t think think it’s a philosophy that Smith wants to adopt. So do you change the way you want your team to play for one game or continue to play your own game? He went with the latter and he backfired. But I get why he did it.

A point will be a good result.

I’ll take a point. Unfortunately Liverpool play behind us so we can’t go top unless West Ham produced a shock win.

Unfortunately nobody ever remembers the great run that come to nothing.(apart from us fans that is). Can’t blame him for going alone. But I wish he had passed.

Not sure about this. But anyway it’s not about Leeds. It’s about us and we’re still on track for a top half finish which I believe is the aim. Nobody for a second is saying smith out or we are doomed after that one game. People are just rightly pointing out we are better than that. The players and manager got it wrong. Even they would admit that themselves. Need to bounce back against Southampton.

Apparently Bielsa never plays a player unless they are 100% fit no matter who they are. Every player has to be on it.

This sums it up.

I like Trez for his hardwork and occasional moments of good football but on the whole he is the kind of player that will eventually not be making the first 11 and probably not even the squad. He will eventually be replaced by Traore. In the mean time he still has a big part to play in the season. The lack of quality on our bench is worrying. Even with the players Leeds had out injured their bench looked stronger than ours.

Not games like that on a Friday night. The players needed the crowd for the adrenaline rush if nothing else.

I agree they let him down. But the coach sometimes has to be brave enough to change it when it’s not working. It’s one for both manager and players to learn from and i’m sure they will I know people are sick of hearing this but Bielsa is a pretty unique manager. If his personality or character traits were not as they were he would have managed at the highest level. Something you have to just accept Leeds have hit the jackpot with this manager. Good luck to them. It doesn’t take anything away from Smith or pretty much any other manager in the league.

If he only scored after that run. What a goal that would have been. He won’t sleep tonight after that one.

I never got the Sheffield United Hype to be honest. They were very sold and hard to break down rather than out playing their opponents. Im disappointed because we just played a team that had higher Possession percentage against both Liverpool and City. What did we honestly expect? The players and manager got this one wrong. Simple as. As I’ve said lets just learn from it and bounce back against Southampton.

Had a bad game today as did many of them. Their movement and passing passed us by at time. We got schooled to be fair.

Nah paji we were poor second half. We’re much better than that. Have to bounce back with a strong performance against Southampton.

I think this is the most disappointing thing about today’s game. I think some of our players felt the same way as our fans.

This sums it up. I’ve only watched Leeds 4 times this season but I expected the same kind of pressure we would from Liverpool. There is no chance we could out play them. Why we didn’t set up or play with the same intensity as we did against Liverpool is beyond me. Is it because it’s only Leeds? Who the F are Leeds etc. I don’t know. But that’s the most disappointing part for me. A team that finished top 7 two seasons in a row pretty much parked the bus the other day and got three points. I gets that’s how they play but sometimes you have to adapt to your opponent. We didn’t do that today and it was costly.

It’s a tough one Tro. Do you let the team continue to play as we have been or do you change it to deal with the threat of a newly promoted team. I personally think we should have changed it but easy to say in hindsight. We better not try and play that way against city! I think most other teams we’ll be alright. Leeds are going to shock a lot of teams this season.

Jack has to shoot after that run. It would have been one of the greatest premier league goals in history. Problem is you have to score. Nobody will remember runs like that apart from villa fans that watch his YouTube videos. As for Leeds I watched it with my best mate that supports Leeds. He said to me since Bielsa took over not once have they ever said the players gave up or didn’t give 100% no matter what the final result. That was the most disappointing thing for me today and no doubt will be for Smith. Important to bounce back against Southampton.

Really disappointed with the team today. We were so open it was a joke. They are a very good team and were going to have a lot of the ball but we didn’t give them anywhere near the respect they deserved. Yes they are not Liverpool but we shouldn’t need to have to play against the champions to be able to close space and work hard. Deserved to lose.
