You’re damn right I would have. Especially if we had Cash, luiz and Barkley out. I just think such is the quality difference between our first 11 and the bench one or two players missing significantly weakens us and turns us in to the team that stayed up by a point. I hope I’m wrong.

You say that too the 37k Villa fans that defended every ball along with the players for 93 minutes. Maybe it didn’t have the same feeling on tv. I would have watched it back but I was too heart broken.

@TRO for some reason I completely misread your post as we played well in the away game we lost to Liverpool. Which is why I didn’t agree. I totally agree we played well at home to Liverpool and no way deserved to lose. No way was it relentless pressure. They kept the ball a lot but created hardly anything. If anything we created the better chances! @villalad21 I thought we actually agreed on something but then realised we were talking about 2 different games. Normality resumes

Well he isn’t. He was all over the place against both Liverpool and Fulham. You don’t rate Mings. That’s fine. I personally think he’s a top defender.

I get the criticism of him. Every player has his faults and they should be discussed. But when I read stuff like he needs to be replaced, he isn’t good enough, Konsa is much better etc i feel like this.

He looked decent. They have taken a big risk spending up to 40m on someone so young but they must have a lot of faith in him. I think Podence and Neto are very good players too. Neto only 20. They have done superbly in the transfer market but then it helps when you have a super agent on the board and are able to snap up all the Portuguese talent!

This ‘kid’ won’t have more potential than anybody until he can string more than 4 appearances together without getting injured.

Against any team you sometimes need that bit of luck. At West Ham if Watkins penalty was a bit lower, the goal wasn’t wrongly disallowed and Trez didn’t finish his chances like he’s never played football before we would have won comfortably. Also when Silva hit the post Konsa was very slow to get across and put a block in. But I guess he isn’t Mings and they didn’t score so it’s not really worth mentioning.
