I thought a while back when Bruce was talking about getting Gabby fit for games, that maybe he has one eye on the Africa cup of nations, get him into some sort of form before they head off? Let's see how much time he gets after that and we'all know if Bruce wants him in the team long term.

As others have said, I thought the game largely passed him by today. Other that the goal, he wasn't dreadful. I'm happier having him on than Gardener as he's just a booking waiting to happen. But we do need to go out and buy a CM who you actually see having an effect on the game. I don't want someone who helps us 'tick over', I want someone who makes tackles, gets assists and scores the occasional goal.

I completely agree, however Kodija scores goals to atone for those errors, also his errors didn't cost a goal. Errors happen to every player, however Westwood offers nothing to redeem himself other than his work rate. As I said in the match thread, I like him as a person, but doesn't really have any attributes or have any effect on games. He's just sort of making up the numbers.

I actually like the guy, he clearly cares, that's why I don't like the abuse he gets. However he clearly is a very weak player, even in this league. He doesn't actually have any real attributes, he's just sort of on the pitch, we really need an improvement.

Richards was poor last season, but has always been pretty decent as a RB. Bacuna is a guaranteed liability. I'd rather DeLaet as would everyone else, but injuries do this.

That's understandable. However it feels like such a long time ago that the association with SHA doesn't bother me, you'd like to think he wouldn't be bothered either and would just get the job done. But you're right about the fans turning quicker maybe.

What's the problem everyone has with Bruce? He the most likely out of all the managers mentioned to get us promoted.

Neither has Sean Dyche, but that doesn't stop people wanting him. Managing England shouldn't be something that makes you a good manager, nor a bad one if you have never managed them. Remember that Steve McLaren has managed England.

I'll be very happy with Bruce. As I said before, he'll get you a slow, steady, boring promotion. I'm happy with that. Hoddle has been out too long, Allardyce probably won't manage again, McLaren is shite and old Woy plays some of the worst football you could ever have the unpleasantness to witness. If it's not Bruce then I want either Rowett, or Lily Savage.

I've not really been posting for the last month or so as it's just depressing me. Plus I didn't want to get involved in the RDM debate whilst we were giving him a chance. I am firmly in the OUT camp now, get Bruce in. Steady, non exciting football but we'll get promoted with him whether it's this season, or if it's too late it'll be next season.

Whenever we lost the ball they just strolled through cm until they hit the defence. Would love to Jedinak and Tish together. Need another cf to compete with Gestede, would love an attacking mid too. Actually been pleased with Bacuna so far, I think he's found his level.

No presence in the centre of midfield. Kozak had one of the worst performances I've seen in quite a while. Wish we could play two good halves for a change.

Not confident today, 2-0 loss for me. I think we'll get going soon, but I've said from the beginning we'll have a slow start, and that it'll cost us come the end of the season.

The point was 'worse players for villa', I've no doubt Lescott has had the better career, but in terms of players pulling on the shirt for us, then no.
