This isn't a panic move after today's game, it has been in negotiation for some time albeit I understand we offered less so maybe today changed our bid. If we get him fit and hungry to prove himself then he'll be a handful and a useful and exciting asset. Does he solve our "problems" ..... no. Does he strengthen our squad ..... yes !

Ezri is a decent player but his confidence has been rocked by being dropped ...... however Chambers has not put a foot wrong when he has started so should probably have got the nod today.

In the unlikely event this is anything but BS, there are no personal terms that would tempt him if he saw today's game !!!

Although we look troubled all over the pitch, I'm pretty sure its the midfield that is the heart of all of our troubles. They are lightweight and get easily outmuscled. They can't defend to save their lives and repeatedly fail to track midfield runners from the opposition. They never run with the ball to break the game line and put opponents on the back foot ..... always sideways or backwards. They never seem to want the ball thus leaving our centre halves with no option when on the ball besides suicide passes. Sort the midfield out and both the defence and forwards will suddenly look half decent. Individually, McGinn is now consistently poor and is a disaster as a captain. Not once did I see him encouraging players when we needed it ..... just silence. Need to change that move immediately and give the C back to Mings who does at least talk on the pitch. Ramsey isn't good enough to start at the moment ..... he looks very flat. Not sure what Kamara is supposed to be doing but I rarely see any impact on the pitch. Bailey is a sub and should never play 90 minutes and Buendia is the best we have by a mile so has to keep starting.

Apart from that, we were okay ?

Decent: Buendia, Cash, Martinez Okay: Mings Poor: Konsa, Kamara, Watkins, Bailey, Ramsey, Gerrard Unbelievably bad: Digne, McGinn Palace had a team of moderate players all playing at their best. Villa had a team of decent players playing below their best. Go figure !

..... or maybe some fans are able to view benefits and progress beyond short term league position. We are an evolving project and gains have to be looked at in a much broader way than just short term league position.

In old skool terms, arguably the best CH we have. Good in the air, physically strong but today you need to be comfortable with the ball at your feet - especially here - and Hause has never been comfortable with the ball at his feet. Good honest player and hope he gets a move to a club looking for his attributes.

So you think stats in a completely different league are valid when talking about the Premier ? Seriously ? Yes, I'll judge any player on what I see right here, playing for Villa, playing in this league ..... the rest is relevant to the leagues he played in and the eras in which he played but I respect your opinions if you think different !

Sorry but that is complete nonsense. Carlos has not exactly demonstrated ball playing skills beyond long hoofs and to claim Chambers is not a ball playing CH suggests you've never seen him play. I'd even say Konsa is relatively safe with the ball ..... its only Hause who isn't.

Why ? We have Chambers, Konsa, Hause ....... we don't need another CH !!!

I'm currently better than Coutinho and I'm 62 with a dodgy knee ..... should I expect a call ?!!!

Of course he has limitations. He came here with relatively little experience as a manager but he was identified as somebody who will learn and become a decent manager ..... arguably in the same way as many of our players are expected to evolve into top talents. The Villa project is a step-by-step project, not an overnight transformation and I have confidence that SG will improve with the experience he is now gaining and I'm quite happy with that.

Doubt SG would be bothered ..... he'd know Ollie would miss !!!
