  1. I couldn't care less about Norwich City, but I have all the time in the world for Dean Smith. He's my favorite Villa manager of all time and I'm still upset about the way he was let go last season. I wish him well and want to see him succeed no matter where he goes, except for whenever he plays the Villa, then I'm against him for 90 minutes.
  2. Delighted with the point. Also happy with the fact that we tried something different tactically for once. Nice job, Gerrard... It only took you 33 matches to win a point against a top 6 side... You'll have to wait another week or two to become the worst manager in our history at this rate!
  3. This... Everyone needs to stop saying it was on-side and the goal should have counted... It was the correct call because of this reason.
  4. Considering they've won the last 7 against us, probably not...
  5. Hopefully Emi isn't really injured... That would we horrible for us.
  6. Pathetic marking by Konsa again... Capitulation start now...
  7. Bournemouth coming back to tie this 2-2 with Forest... End to end stuff this game.
  8. Very dodgy VAR officials this week. Getting worse this season.
  9. So true... He took over the job from a manager universally adored by Norwich fans and they struggled massively to play any sort of decent football last season. Some have never wanted him from day 1 and most Norwich fans aren't bothered by him one way or the other it seems.
  10. I don't know about that... Much better manager at least.
  11. VAR doing everything in its power to rule out a stonewall penalty for Forest. VAR review for 5 minutes checking everything from offsite to multiple angles on the obvious handball, to calling the ref over to review again on the monitor... Fishy as fook...
  12. I honestly liked our business this window, but as long as Gerrard is here, we won't see the fruits of it. Our next manager will utilize all the pieces of the squad to their fullest.
  13. Agreed. He is a meme and former players don't have good things to say about him. Glen Johnson said he tries so hard to be Mourinho in everything he does and as someone who was actually managed by Mourinho at Chelsea, he couldn't take Rodgers seriously.
  14. His work at Southampton (Getting a lower half club into Europe) got him the Spurs job. His work at Spurs (Getting a top half team to a Champions League Final) got him the PSG job. His experience at PSG and meeting expectations winning the league and French cup will get him a job at any other elite club he wants to... Why would he step backwards twice in his career progression to manage Villa? It's like someone who is a VP at a large company going back to middle management at a startup, instead of pushing for a CEO job instead.
  15. Poch would never come to Villa. His stock is too high right now. He's going to be the first name one of the elite European clubs call this season when they need a new manager. Marco Rose would be my 1st choice, but I doubt he would even be considered. I wouldn't be surprised if we ended up with Rafa, Rodgers, or Potter as the next manager. Potter is the obvious choice, but Purslow knows Rafa & Rodgers personally from his time at Liverpool and Chelsea, so he may turn to them as more experienced options to keep us up and drive us forward.
  16. Exactly. If Leicester's board actually spent some money on defenders this summer, they wouldn't be bottom of the table right now. They still look dangerous going forward at times and create chances, but they can't defend worth a damn.
  17. MON - Moscow... Punting the UEFA cup by playing kids so your senior squad can focus on the league was a disaster. Our form fell of completely since then and his days were numbered. Houllier - Heart attack announcement. I liked Houllier and the direction he was taking us in, but knew instantly that he would no longer manage after his heart attack was announced. McLeish - The first protest at VP after his announcement. Was one of the worst decisions Randy Lerner ever made, and that's saying something. Lambert - There wasn't one moment in particular. Lambert's full reign as manager was like watching the club slowly circle the drain to relegation over the course of several years. Sherwood - The Leicester match where we blew a massive lead and lost the game. The squad never played for him after that. Garde - After the first performance. The players weren't playing for Sherwood and for sure weren't going to play for this clown. They made that clear after that first match. Di Matteo - TBH, I didn't watch much of us during his short spell. Relegation turned me off football for a bit. Bruce - You knew it was only a matter of time before Brucey got the sack after NSWE bought the club, but Whelan's penalty miss was the final nail in the coffin for him. Gerrard - West Ham away last season... We just beat Brighton, Southampton, & Leeds without conceding, while using a consistent 11 and a formation which seemed to be working. West Ham we pulled out a completely different formation again and got our teeth kicked in. That was the moment I knew he clearly had no idea what he was doing and his days were numbered here.
  18. At some point, Brighton will stop hitting on their replacements for their best players they sell off for a profit and their overachievement in the table will stop, kind of like what happened with Southampton. I think Potter is a solid coach, not as good as some make him out to be on here, but I wouldn't mind him. He's at least been successful everywhere he's been and played progressive football on a budget.
  19. On Leicester's subreddit there are some ITKs claiming that Rodgers has a ridiculous buyout clause in his contract, something like 10 million pounds. The conspiracy theory is that they aren't giving him funds to work with because they want him to resign or leave by negotiated rate instead of sacking him outright.
  20. Arsenal looked like players who know he is on the way out and are auditioning for the next manager. We'll see the same for Man City as well.
  21. Hilarious to see all the Arsenal fans on Reddit losing their minds over this saga... "I don't understand! He isn't starting, clearly wants out of Villa, and is on an expiring deal! Why isn't Villa accepting our dogshit offer for him!?!?!?!?! Who do they think they are?!?!?!?!?! I hope you lot get relegated for acting like a tin pot club and we'll just sign him for free next summer... Also, I've never watched him play and can't remember anything about him from the game 2 days ago... Is he any good and is he a 6 or an 8?"
  22. Didn't happen that way for Smith... We fooked about for two weeks doing interviews with gems like Fat Frank and Roberto Martinez for the entirety of an international break before mumblemouth Steve was announced.
  23. I'm happy with him... Very underrated player, IMO. He was fantastic under Nuno, but he hasn't found the same level since then, but he is a quality player. Likening this to the Chambers signing is a good shout.
