  1. He never move in the box because he knows he isn't going to get a cross anyway. Only two crosses in the air today and both were aimed at Sinclair. It just doesn't make sense
  2. Would anyone be happy paying a small fee if it involved getting one of yedlin/walker in on loan as well?
  3. Think he's sealed his transfer away with that cameo
  4. Got to agree he's had it rough. But I think he has probably come through the worse of it and matured. I think people are forgetting this guy was a top player, the squad is calling out for experience and he's got bags of it. Get him in on loan for the season and a pacy young striker to play alongside him and we will be dangerous next season.
  5. Think it will be done when we get back from Portugal, as I imagine a lot of business will be.
  6. I agree with getting Cambiasso in. It'll only be for a year, but we can use the TV money to upgrade next Summer. (If we stay up) I don't think the Adebayor link is true, it stinks of lazy journalism to me. From what I can see we don't know what type of striker Sherwood likes, he's never bought one. He's done well to get the best from Benteke and Adebayor but he might not even like playing with a target man. He could prefer an Aguero type Striker, who knows. We finished 17th last season and have had it bad (understatement) for years now. A complete reshuffle is exactly what we need. Get in Amavi, Cambiasso, An established goal scorer, A young exciting striker, and a CM (Darder or Praet would be perfect) and we're in a much stronger position next season.
  7. Watch that clip and you'll see why. Benteke would have buried pretty much all of those crosses.
  8. Odd that there's nothing about it on Sky Sports website when the BBC say he said it to Sky...
  9. Bacuna Richards Clark Amavi Hutton Okore Baker Richardson I'd be happy going into the season with that, maybe another centre back unless donacien is ready to step in. Does anyone think Bennett has any chance?
  10. Westwood/Sanchez Gueye/Gardner Delph Praet/Gil Grealish/Sinclair That looks a solid midfield to me. Can play 4 or 5 comfortably even with injuries, I'd be happy with that.
  11. What happened to "I won't believe it until it's on the OS"? It would be hilarious if it was all bull now and everyone had to eat their words. Anyway since it is definitely going to happen, at least we're getting some money and replacing him the day before. I doubt he'll be starting the Euro's next year but at least he will get to play in 2 champions league group games and lift a few trophies that his teammates won. Replacing Delph and Vlaar, with Gueye and Richards, and just about breaking even isn't bad business to start the window, there's still a 8 weeks left don't forget.
  12. He may be slow but he still scored 4 goals in his first 14 games in a brand new league. I'm willing to give him another chance with what will hopefully be a much better team around him.
  13. He took less money than he could have somewhere else so clearly he's made this decision based on something other than money and chosen Villa. That can only be a good sign. Can cover RB, both CB's and I think having a back 3 of Richards - Okore - Clark would be a massive step up. He's got something to prove, and I'd imagine he will be challenging to get back into the England squad for the Euros. All round great signing.
  14. In (£54mil) - CB (£10mil), Trippier (£3.5mil), Richards (free), Neil Taylor (£3.5mil), Luongo (£2mil), Cleverley (Free), AM/Winger (£10mil), CF (£15mil), CF (£10mil) Bamford (Loan) Out (£41.5mil) - Lowton (£2mil) Hutton (£1mil), Vlaar (free), Cissokho (£2mil), N'zogbia (£2mil), Benteke (£32.5mil), Weimann (£2mil) Feel free to help me fill in the blanks, but for a net spend of £12.5mil (which I think even we can afford) that could be a pretty substantial squad overhaul
  15. I wouldn't be surprised if he signed a new contract with a similar release clause. He gets an extra £20k a week and his dream move after the euros, we get one more season and £30-40 mil next season. Win-win
  16. If he keeps impressing I wouldn't be surprised to see Roy call him to his next squad. Debut against Ireland?
  17. Would more likely be £20m + Walcott
  18. Luongo £5-7 millionNeil Taylor - £3-5 Mil, Sinclair £1-2.5 mil, Cleverley and Richards would want at least £1 mil signing on fee with there not being a transfer fee, Chelsea make a lot of money from loaning players out, it'll probably be about £1 million spread over the season. I was high balling with £15 mil but it won't be far off.
  19. GK - Guzan, Given, Steer DF - Hutton, Bacuna, Lowton, Okore, Clark, Baker, Senderos, (Richards), Cissokho, Bennett Richardson (Taylor) MF - Delph (Cleverley) Sanchez, Westwood, Gardner (Luongo) AM - Grealish, Gil (Sinclair) N'Zogbia, Cole CF - Benteke, Kozak, Gabby, Robinson, Helenius (Bamford) Spending probably under 15 million, I think this side would be in the top 10. Including getting Bent off the wage bill, Weimann out for a few million, Luna out for whatever, if Taylor comes in one of Cissokho or Bennett could go. Potentially even time for lowton to leave. If there's investment on top of that we could be in a very good position this time next year.
  20. I know it's a long shot, but if we win the fa cup and get european football, does anyone think Milner could be tempted by a regular starting place. Wouldn't cost that much more than Cleverley with both being on a free and Milner would be amazing along side Delph in that midfield. He loved it here, and a regular starting place at a team in Europe could persuade him more than a place on the bench at a Champions League team.
  21. I think we'll get one more year. He'll score a hat full of goals next season with a team built around him, and if he impresses at the Euros as well he could literally move anywhere. Best move for everyone would be for him to go next summer.
  22. I like most of the links so far, Luongo is a risk but one I'd take. If we keep Benteke I think him and Bamford up top would be lethal and on loan its a win win for everyone really. I'm not sure about Richards, but I wouldn't be too upset with him on a free. Those 3 plus Sinclair, Cleverley and a left back (Neil Taylor) would leave us in a very good position imo. Would like to see a marquee foreign transfer as well but that's probably wishful thinking
  23. Really excited to see this guy. I can see him being good competition for Cleverley's place if/when he comes here.
  24. I can definitely see a french team taking him off our hands. He'd be perfect in that league, and he could probably even get some European Football. Everyone wins.
  25. After having spoken to him before, he sounds really excited by what he can do with the potential on offer at Villa. Sherwood was definitely risky but its brought so much feel good factor to the club that even fans of other teams who wanted to see us relegated at Christmas are actually glad we seem to be on the up. I am excited about next season (With a sneaky European adventure thrown in) for the first time in years and I think Fox has a lot to do with that! *First post so be gentle!
