    But can they read the game? Anyway, we don't know if Dunne is staying, do we? The way football is being played now centrebacks need pace to deal with top forwards and thats the only way our team will gain success. Listen mate we are no longer competing against top teams and top forwards,we are fighting for the scraps thrown from the top 4 teams which is europa league and league cup,we should have players capable of competing with the rest of the league.

    I find it interesting when people think that the step up from another league to the premiership is a concern. If as a team we were setting out to challenge the top four then yes it may be a problem. We as a team will be looking for the 5th and 6th spots and possible Europa league football,to me this means we are competing against everyone else in this league who wants the same thing we do. Therefore a player from the Dutch leagues who has helped his team qualify for champions league football is more than capable of making the step up.

    It wont happen mate,the OGS thread had over 300 pages compared to the Martinez thread which has struggled to get past 20,which tells me the excitement level isnt their for Mr Martinez.

    Not really. We went from one of the best defensive records to one of the worst and houllier openly refused to address the situation. Them needing replacing is something I agree with. However I see little evidence to suggest we need a manager who can control them or put them in their place. Can you explain to me how he openly refused to address the situation?

    The only thing that could be worse than last season....is administration. It wasn't just the flirtation with relegation, it was the garbage on the pitch we had to endure week in week out. For gods sake, give us a manger that, at the very least provides us with some entertainment. I hear you Bladerunner,the Villa faithfull hear you and Randy Lerner can hear you ,i hope.

    This has turned into one crazy search for a new manager,140 pages in and still going strong,i dont want anybody but OGS managing this team and for the life of me i dont know why,OGS is like a drug and i need a fix.

    I love the idea of OGS being our next manager,that does show a bit of vision from the board at last.

    Mr Lerner,before you make a final decision on our next manager,sign up on these boards with a user name along the lines of "top dog" drop a few hints on who you think you want as manager and then read the replies,youll get the best feedback on wether or not your picking the right man.We dont want anymore embarrassing misshaps like the last one do we?
