It’s funny how a bit of huff and puff can raise no questions over attitude but a laid back demeanour in interviews like Bertrand Traore or Leon Bailey with his own clothing brand raises questions over attitude and comments like “he should concentrate on his football” yet Matty “Polish advert” Cash gets a free pass. I don’t believe any of the three players I’ve mentioned have attitude problems just limitations but Cash always gets a free pass and people even think we’ll make a substantial profit on him.
  2. When you put it that way it doesn’t sound to bad , but the problem is how you include all teams around Europe from obscure leagues , say a top 10 team qualifies from the premier league and then a team from one of the more obscure leagues in Europe they’d be the wiping boys of the league, how is that competitive?
  3. Strikers just aren’t about anymore Premier League teams have spent big on traditional number 9’s that can’t reach double figures. I think even the likes of Jonathan David who would cost between £45m-£60m would struggle to score more than what Ollie Watkins does. Going big and finding a clinical striker would mean buying Lewandowski which we all know won’t happen. We need 5 or 6 starters and then bench players that can share goals.
  4. It would mean getting rid of the europa league and conference league, if it were 10 teams from the top European Leagues Premier League, La Liga, Bundesliga , Ligue 1, Seire A then you have to look to Holland and Portugal for teams and after that ti gets very grim with leagues like the Swiss super league and Belgium. Will people want to watch the lower tier of a super league? .
  5. I don’t know how this could work along side competing in domestic leagues, it would be 14 extra matches per year across 3 or 4 divisions there’s no insensitive for premier league teams to join, I can see why Barca and Juve want to join with their financial struggles even though Barca are actually looking like a better run club and utilising their academy this season instead of signing players after players they are using what they’ve got and are on course to win the league and probably in the form they are in have good chance of winning they europa league to.
  6. But isn’t it a vote for all eu members? Doesn’t that exclude the premier league?
  7. West Ham have spent over 200m on wingers only Bowen had given them a above average return on goals, they’ve spent near 150m on strikers and are still starting Mikel Antonio.
  8. I’ve just read a short article with limited information, between 60-80 teams no permanent teams so I think that all teams would have to qualify so yes in short it’s not all the big teams leaving their own leagues just another competition. I don’t know if it needs to replace the Champions league though?
  9. That goes for all the premier league teams, only leeds we’re willing to take a punt on a 5ft6 winger released by Inter that went on to play in the worst team in the swiss super league.
  10. Benrahma, Felipe Anderson, Dan James, Sancho, Pepe, Sterling just to name a few wingers that have been underwhelming or failed all cost more or the same as Leon Bailey so it proves that it isn’t that easy. Leon Bailey pre Villa was one of the most exciting wingers in Europe as frustrating as he can be it hasn’t been a complete disaster like people make him out to be both he and Traore have had their fare share of injuries and the Gerrard effect.
  11. And then @Zatman provided an example of a player we actually signed without premier league experience.

You would have thought a fullback playing in midfield would have offered some defensive solidarity some aggression, but the game just passed him by.

I don’t think people realise how much is asked tactically of our wide midfielders. It means tucking into a 3 in midfield , pressing higher up the pitch as a 10 and slotting in as an extra defender. The amount of tactical instructions would give Matty Cash a bleeding nose.
  14. Is he training with the first team? Someone mentioned here a few post that he might have fallen in with a bad crowd off the pitch.

He’s been given the opportunity to prove his worth there twice and has been poor, I don’t think he is intelligent enough tactically.
  16. And then what? If he doesn’t do anything and still here at 23-24? Some players will be moved it doesn’t mean the are poor players it’s just that standard for premier league football is so high. Considering how low his wages are in comparison to a first team player a fee of £5m + add ons would be good money. I don’t think he’s performed poor at championship level, I think his decision making needs to improve but that’s the whole point of a loan to improve and learn through playing. And I get what you’re saying re age but he seems a bit light weight , youngsters who make it at premier league level are physically developed at a young age, like Ramsey, Rooney even Chuckwemeka. I think Finn Azaz is even though older has a better chance to make it here than Jaden Philogene a slim chance but a but a bigger possibility of it happening .
  17. Imagine learning to drive you then stall then the instructor tells you should never drive again.
  18. 22 appearances and 2 goals in the championship isn’t bad for a 20 year old. I agree he won’t cut it here but he might forge a decent Championship career. If we can get £5m + add ons then it’s decent business.
  19. Yes RDT was something of a coup I suppose, pity he’s been injured for the majority of the season, Camello looks good too.
