    Phil was a total pro. Humble. Didn’t bring an ego. Just wanted to play football. Never complained. Sucks it didn’t work out. Blame Gerrard and Purslow for the contract length. But people should not take out their frustrations about that era on him.

    It was a huge PR move by the club, it did raise our profile. He should, however have never been given such a lengthy contract.

    Both make fair points. It’s just a worry if Kane takes a knock early. I don’t see Toney offering much else. He shouldn’t be rewarded for being a glorified pen taker.
