  1. I like The Bescot, I can always get parked after a 2 hour drive
  2. Being half Dutch I've always followed the Netherlands rather than England and that goes for the women's team too and I have to say that's what aways struck me about Weigman's selection, I don't think many newer, younger players were brought in once a core was established. She's won back to back European Championships, got to a World Cup final in between and I can see England winning the World Cup under her leadership so who's to say that approach doesn't work, especially when it creates such great team cohesion but it's a slippery slope once a few players start to lose form, pick up an injury or retire. Same problem the men's national team have always had.
  3. Well done to them for filling Wembley but I will never understand paying to go to a wrestling or boxing or MMA event where for most of the seats you're having to watch on a screen anyway as you're too far away from the ring.
  4. I wish I could be excited about AEW. Or WWE. Or wrestling generally. VTW is really where wrestling peaked.
  5. Referee was abysmal and I was sat about in line with two of the offside decisions and they were nowhere near. Absolutely awful decisions that favour the 'big' club.
  6. Might be my last game this season due to other commitments but I'm thinking of getting a season ticket for next season.
  7. Update: There has been a delay in me getting that GT40 as I didn't win the lottery.
  8. Having to put £1 in a trolley. Yes, for your information I did drive 13 miles to do a big shop at the big Sainsburys only to forget my £1 because who uses cash these days?!
  9. If I win the lottery tomorrow, I'll be driving an original Ford GT40.
  10. The core don't need persuading? Starmer has lost 3 Labour votes in this house alone. I know he's lost my neighbours opposite too, so that's 5. Maybe seems nothing but how far does it spread? When I was a member, the people who actually bothered to go to CLP meetings were pretty left wing generally and now they're not even standing a candidate here for the local elections last I checked.
  11. I always forget the metal bar at eye level whenever I pick my seat in the front row at the Bescot
  12. Handful of tory lite policies with plenty of centrist dinner party types going on TV and radio to tell us how wonderful and radical it all is, then if they get voted in, we'll get less of that stuff and even more of the worse stuff. Bit like the leadership contest.
  13. Why would I look up my wife's family tree?
  14. While having a look at ancestry.com I found that my mum has a cousin she didn't know about who had traced that side of my family back to the 1500s. That's the Dutch side. As for the English side, I can't find much past the mid 1800s
  15. And that was before you even got onto the subject of religion
  16. My department is being forced to individually give presentations out to the rest of the company so that they can feel more engaged with us... even though we are the department that everyone engages with the most. Our head basically likes to hear himself talk and expects everyone else to enjoy it just the same and has made it part of our objectives for the year, so if we donn't give talks / presentations on something, we might not get our bonus or affect our potential pay rises next year. Best part is, these are expected to be done during lunch time so anyone who wants to can attend, so you're also giving up your free time too. I absolutely hate speaking to groups of people, just the thought gives me anxiety. Starting to regret not taking that other job offer back in August. I'd have more home working, I wouldn't have the crushing situation I mentioned in the relationship thread and I wouldn't be getting foreced into doing this crap.
  17. Haha, I've just had the Jehovah Witnesses round too. Never seen so many in the street! They asked me who I think controls the world, God or Satan? My favourite encounter was when I answered the door and the lady looked at me, looked at the picture of Jesus on her leaflet, then back at me, then at the leaflet
  18. A work in progress and I need a camera that doesn't blur everything
  19. No more Pot Noodle dinners for Davkaus
  20. It's Limpid reading the highlights with a beat backing track. Like the Tony Benn speeches on Spotify.
  21. When is the title of this thread being updated to "The Margaret Thatcher resembling, Monarchy loving, no threat to the establishment, Labour Party thread"?
  22. And to top it off, Cathedral City is a brand of cheese anyway.
