  1. Is only getting rave reviews because we're winning IMO. Still gives the ball away far too much and kills attacks by either making the wrong decision or not making a decision at all. He's been better than before and has by no means been poor but I'd much rather Sinclair, Gil or Gabby came in for him.
  2. Swansea at home was probably the worst performance. Agreed but even then we missed a lot of chances. And by "we" I mean Sinclair.
  3. Watch quite a few Leicester games because my my mates are all fans and can safely say Vardy is 10 times the player Weimann is. Nugent is probably only slightly better though.
  4. Bamford would be decent, in and out for Weimann.
  5. Everyone besides the people/club paying the money for him you mean?

    Carles Gil

    ........ Please stop this.
  7. I'd argue that his passing is actually really good, most of the time. He plays some quality pings which very few other players in the squad are capable of. However, just needs to cut out the panicky passes to the opposition and occasional Barry Bannan attempted Hollywood cross field balls. I actually really rate him, however I think I might be one of the minority. One of the best midfield tacklers the club has had in a long long time IMO.
  8. he's no tonev To be honest I was he had a little Tonev in him. Not a lot just a cheeky 10% so we could see some goals from him.

So if (I'm sure this will be used against me but this is a hyperbole example and I am not suggesting they are anywhere near the same standard) Ronaldo was dropped from the Real Madrid squad all together then it would be understandable as he wasn't fitting into the plans of the manager and not impressing in training? It is pretty much a fact that he is a better player than the likes of Weimann so to not have him on the bench is odd IMO. Tired of people pretending they can see into the mind of Tim Sherwood.

    Brad Guzan

Never thought I'd see the day when I would be hoping for The Guze to be dropped. Some OTT posts in here about how long he's been poor though, was fairly decent prior to the turn of the year IIRC. Like many have said, Given 'til the end of the year then Guzan again next year - has to be done.
  11. Oh my I forgot about that pass back... possibly more unforgivable than ducking out the way of that freekick. More bothered about making himself look bad by getting tackled or misplacing a pass than getting some points on the board and keeping Aston Villa in the Premier League
  12. Looked the best player on the pitch today, outshone Silva completely. Loved it when he was running with the ball on about the half way line and the city player (can't remember who he was) went to tackle him and bounced off him. #Dench
  13. Been utterly woeful. Excusing his consistently unacceptable performances due to clearing a ball off the line in one game (a clearance which had he not made would have been seen as a gigantic mistake) is both baffling and hilarious.
  14. Are you sure mate? ;-)
  15. Could see TS moulding things more to his side. Could see a bit of rotation on top of what's needed. For a random example, sell Weimann and sign David Nugent. One of the only players in the league possibly worse than Weimann.
  16. How are you finding the motivation to do this?
  17. Yeah I got that, not convinced he played well in either of those games but I suppose he's trying to squeeze as much out of him as he can

You missed out having a go at Sherwood. That's the issue, not what you've put aboveLike his internet bodyguards. Can't speak badly about the Messiah. We are aloud to have opinions and question his decisions for discussional purposes on a forum. The issue is that there doesn't seem to be any flexibility. There were valid questions about why he wasn't starting games, but surely over the past couple of months those questions have been answered by results on the pitch. The manager fancies others for whatever reason, it doesn't really matter why, and those "others" are doing the business. If given the choice between Grealish and Gil, based on what i have seen from both of them, I would chose Grealish Why is that? I'm genuinely curious. I love Grealish, and if one of the two had to leave I would choose it to be Jack that stayed - partly due to him coming through the academy/being a Villa lad and partly due to him being younger with possibly more potential. However, at this moment in time, I would argue (at the risk of being exiled from VT) that Gil has shown that he is at least as good, if not better, than Grealish. Because I think Grealish has much more natural talent and a much higher ceiling and should be afforded the time to progress. I also believe that he produced a performance on Sunday that was head and shoulders above anything Gil showed in his brief stint and I also see in Grealish a player completely in tune with his team mates, whilst for whatever reason Gil struggled to "fit". I accept that a lot of that was down to poor management, but I can only report on what I see. I do like Gil and I think he has a good future in the game. He's clearly carrying a lot of natural talent himself. But I questioned his decision making at the time, I also questioned his work rate and I think Grealish despite being the younger of the two is the more mature player. As I said, I do like Gil. That hasn't come across in this thread for a while because we seem to discuss the managers decisions more than the player himself! I do hope we see more of him towards the end of this season and in to next. Just not at the expense of Grealish unless his form really nosedives. Fair. I don't think I can agree or argue as I don't feel I've seen enough of either. However, I do wonder whether Jack is capable of producing an assist such as the Chelsea game or a goal such as against Bournemouth... I don't feel as though (and this is no big gripe against him, as he hasn't had enough of a chance to show himself yet) Jack has shown the greatest amount of end product as of yet. One thing is for sure though and that is that these two have individually shown some of the best bits of technical ability I've personally seen from a Villa player and I look forward to seeing how they both develop :-)
  19. Agreed. Lambert's poor management/handling of Grealish could and would have resulted in him leaving/not signing that contract had he not been Villa through and through, I feel. How did you work that out? It was Lambert who promoted him to the first team squad last summer. Grealish had been given a taste of the first time squad under McLeish, making the bench in a prem game at age 16 prior to Lambert being appointed at the club, IIRC. From my perspective, it seemed as though Lambert was taking as long as he possibly could to promote Grealish to the first time and doing this to the bare minimum in order to please the fans without having to take any significant sort of risk with giving him an opportunity - instead choosing to give chances to consistently poor players such as Weimann.
  20. Could he only play at the top of a diamond/ behind the striker, or could he do a job in a midfield two/three?
