This is very sensible move by Emery. Furthermore, Bertie can certainly play wide too if push comes to shove, irrespective of his tracking back. I doubt he'll be starting too many games either way.
Once again, it's as clear as daylight, what a difference, a real football manager can have on a decent squad. Long may it continue. I don't think we need to be hasty in the January market either.
People on here would roll on the floor laughing if we was even being linked to dogshit like Botman, Burn or Wood. Most of us probably also thought Trippier's BBD was way past it.
Fact is Newcastle are playing really good football with some very average players.
A third of that was spent on Isak, who's barely played yet. A closer look at what they've actually bought, heck it's even more impressive. Trippier was a real masterstroke for 14m.
Also it's not like we haven't spent anything these last few years. On paper we certainly have the stronger team. It's gonna be really interesting seeing what Emery can get out of them. I wouldn't be surprised if we still manage to challenge for top6.
Great result and fully deserved. I quite like our subtle, newfound mean streak.
Also, I have to add, at no point was I worried we'd concede at the death, which we've come all too accustomed with.
