    They were also saying at lunchtime that because Man City had met a release clause, it put Jack into the position of having to make a decision which he's found incredibly difficult. Well who do they think bloody well asked for the release clause to be put in his contract??

    Yeah - I noticed that at lunchtime. Definitely his PR team pushing this line to maintain Brand Grealish.

    Indeed. The optimism surrounding the club on the day Grealish leaves is fantastic. And it's all down to NSWE and Purslow. We're so lucky to have them.

    Platt for me. 89/90 was the first season I really started taking an interest in the Villa players - not just results. Obviously Platt was the star man that year. Then off he went to Italia '90, scoring against Belgium, my whole family going nuts in the living room - great memories. He was the first player I really adored. Cracking 90/91 season for him (although not Villa) and then he left. I was young enough to think he'd stay forever. I was devastated.

    Nicely put. However for some ambition and achievement can only be measured by the number of trinkets in a display cabinet.

    Totally agree. How can anyone moving to a club where honours are guaranteed be described as "ambitious"? It's moving to collect medals. Ambition is pushing yourself and those around you to their very best, trying to win things despite the odds - not joining the odds on favourites.

    No idea if he's staying or going But I do know winning even just the League Cup as Villa Captain would mean more to me than any number of Champions League winner medals with anyone else. I hope Jack feels the same.
