  1. Serious question as I don't know the answer. What were you feelings on him as an owner when we took 6th for three years running?
  2. People could get fed up with those who slate a manager for everything that goes wrong at the club but never give praise when things go right. But that would just be rather petty and immature.
  3. You're the only joker here mate :winkold: It was so obvious we were under the cosh at the start of H2 and yet McLesih did nothing. We had a two goal lead and we needed to kill the game. Gardner on for Keane and a three man CM would have been the right move just after half time. I would then have taken Petrov of on 60 for Albie and bought SI back in to CM. He did nothing but send out the same team that was under the cosh for the first 20-25 minutes of the first half. We withstood the pressure in the first half but not in the second. If Dunne hadn't of dived in the ball may have still gone to Given and they wouldn't have scored. Hutton had so much space to kick the ball into but he kicked it into Walcott. Bent chased back because Ireland I believe got beat and I feel was unlucky to give the 2nd penalty away. To blame those events on the manager is a bit silly to be honesty.I'm not his greatest fan but at least he would probably have known Albrighton wasn't playing
  4. Some difficult decisions for AM if Gabby and Ireland are fit and ready to go. Also does he bring Warnock back in for Clark?
  5. You might want to go read Blandy's posts I believe in the Randy thread but we didn't lose the tribunal and no judgement was made either way. From what I remember it was settled out of court.
  6. A wise man has written or is that wrote?
  7. I would like to also have give him the send off he deserved. Just like the one he gave us, oh wait...
  8. So with Sunderland losing to Chelsea away and Villa winning there does it make AM a better manager than MON? Just asking lol.
  9. What I believe he is tryingt to say is that Moyes can't be that much better than McCleish as there record this season are similar. People who say look what he has done over 10 years on a shoestring. I agree he has done well but look at his first three seasons: 15th, 7th and 17th. Do you think if McCleish did that in the next three years with no investment that he would be still around? I certainly don't believe so. Since then Moyes has done very well only dropping out of the top 10 once but winning nothing. Moyes has been allowed to stamp his mark on Everton and McCleish won't be allowed that luxary. To be honest if the season carries on the same way I don't think he should either. But to class someone as demented without taking in all the facts and putting your hatred of AM aside is wrong. AM is were DM was ten years ago. An under performing side and very little resources to change it. Only ten years could tell us if they are on equal footing but as I have said before AM won't get that time. Oh another sorry performance by the way.
  10. he is more devastating up front.... Terry and Luiz shat their pants when he played up front against them and them Mcleish sticks him on the wing in the next match after...go figure.... with his pace and running in the channels he stretches defenders and helps to pin the opposition back... on the wing he spends 60% of the game in his own half tracking the opponents winger and we pass the ball to him hoping he can kick it past their full back and put in a low cross..... thats not his game and never will be he belongs up front and i hope to god its ireland on the wing today Totally agree.
  11. Gibson to be MOTM and to score a screamer from 30 yards lol
  12. A nice run and shot towards the end of the game and took a very good save to push it wide. I like the look of his gib!
  13. He has been poor of late and thought he had a real bad start to the game yesterday but got better as the game went on. He needs to do better before his place gets taken. It wasn't a hand ball yesterday; nothing he could do from 1 yard away. He hasn't got the reactions to react that fast if he has tried to stop the ball.
  14. Well at least it wasn't a team from Manchester.
  15. Is that 4 wins in 6 for MON? Just checking
  16. I watched the game today and this is why I feel we lost them game. 1. Playing Bent up front on his own. Gabby showed on Saturday to do this effectively you need a forward who is going to hurry defenders to force them into mistakes. Bent is never going to do that so Swansea had all the time they needed to play form the back. 2. Pushing Gabby out on the wing after he had such a great game on Saturday. I'm sure it knocked his confidence and basically being a foil for Bent after out performing him all season. 3. Playing 451 against Swansea at home. I think everyone knew Swansea where going to pass it around but we are the home team coming off a great win; we needed to be more positive. 4. Major errors by our fullbacks. Warnock's was way more obvious than Cuellar but they were just as guilty of making errors that you woudn't expect from division 1 players. 5. The manager not changing it as soon as we went down 2-0. Clark should have gone off and Albrighton push out to the right wing and drop Ireland into a center two with Petrov. Bannan should then have been brought on as Petrov tired. Taking Ireland off at that time in the game was very odd indeed. He should have start 442, Gabby and Bent up top. Albrighton and N'Zog on wings. Ireland and Petrov in center. Bring on the next game so I can dream that we may win one.
  17. Did anyone know that MON has won 3 out of 5 games already since he took over. Just making sure everybody knew because you may have missed it on the site this week.
  18. Don't clubs already complain about the number of games they play?
  19. Didn’t take him long to motivate the team either... and another last minute goal Like I said, and Mark has testified to, we got a few of them while he was with us. Top manager, top man. Top managers don't buy players on massive wages then not play them because he has a falling out with them. He gets good results but top managers need to know how to manager and he doesn't do that well. I'll give you top motivator but I won't even touch top man.
  20. :| Leave the boy alone; he is just trying to get his point across and no one is biting. This is how I see it: MON had three good seasons at Villa. Randy and MON screwed up when it came to buy certain players on high wages who MON wouldn't play. He left when he and Randy fell out causing as much trouble for the club as possible with the time of it. Randy tried something new with Houiller and it didn't work out. Randy is trying to balance the books. Randy employs AM to the dismay of many Villa fans. Villa have rough start in the transistion season of 2011-12. MON gets a chance to manage his childhood team and has some initial success. AM looks like he may be finding his feet at the Villa. 100% Villa fans are thankful they don't support Sunderland. I have got that off my chest now I can move on. HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!! UTV, onwards and upwards.
  21. Gardner has put in a good shift today. I really hope City don't score.
  22. Quite rightly so.. because as the commentator on Sky yesterday remarked (can't remember his name used to play for West Ham & he's one of the best cos he's always fair and complimentary about Villa when it's due) We've bucked the trend and not been afraid to blood our academy youngsters and turn them into regular Premiership players like Bannan, Albrighton, Clark and Gabby instead of buying elsewhere. We had 5 academy players out on show yesterday, so what's not to be proud of? Tony Gale and yes he maded a valid point was very good to see.
