Yes it was a naive team selection, I'm sure its a learning experience for Sherwood being a young and inexperienced manager. This said I'd much rather us try and experiment and such in what ultimately are low meaning games than grind out a 0-0 like Pulis is doing up the road.

??? According to a couple of articles today over here Sabatini was in London yesterday to tie up our bid for Ljajic, we also had an offer for Gervinho turned down as too low apparently. The last one I read also stated we had both Ljajic and Destro lined up a month ago but it didn't go ahead because of possible takeover. Personally I don't see us bidding for Gervinho, this is the man who wanted a helicopter to and from training to renew his contract at Roma (didn't get it, but he was apparently quite serious). He wanted a Helicopter and a private beach to move to Al-Jazira as they had a bid accepted, I saw it more as him not wanting to go so made stupid demands and then it was win-win for him.

Agree. Gestede's last two seasons he's scored one in two, Ayew had a good haul last season. Kozak hasn't been prolific or even a regular player anywhere apart from his breakthrough season at Opava, he seems to be rated purely down to his 'ratio' for us but this doesn't really carry much weight as it's from such a small number of games. If we're going to base it on this then technically Gestede is ahead of him anyway, as he's scored a goal and played 152 minutes.

I don't think his rep is any lower amongst us, haven't seen a good thing said about him on other teams forums general consensus from what I've seen seems to be he was poor manager who played awful football.

I don't/didn't even want Austin or rate him that highly, although I am warming to the idea more and more as it becomes obvious a goalscorer is still a huge priority, but it's obvious he's a class above those players. He has scored lots of goals at every level including an impressive amount in the Prem last season, Walters Stoke record is awful and has never scored many anywhere. And I'm not seeing what Kozak has done to suggest he is anywhere near Austins ability either, it's clear Sherwood doesn't rate him.
