    I think European refs are miles better than English. Maybe not overall in terms of quality in numbers but individually I'm always impressed by the high profile ones.

    I think a few are getting there tbf. Locatelli and Barella are top players, this is the best Italy team since the likes of Pirlo, Gattuso etc retired.

    I actually really love the narrative that international football has grown into now. Its like 90's Wrestling. Teams have developed identities and flat out refuse to change regardless of results or perception. Spain are going to lose having 3 shots on target and 92% possession. Germany save their best for the big occasion, a Scandinavian team will get much further than they have any right to scoring only from corners. It's the only thing that holds my interest these days because it's largely dire football on show.

    No, and the new DOF appointment essentially reset everything for both manager and player searches. Brilliant to watch from the outside.

    Uefa now ordered the slogan be removed but they're fine with the map. Probably the right decision. On a barely related note I hope Ukraine do well. They have a half decent team and Shevchenko is/was a baller that got turned into a joke over here.

    Nothing wrong with just taking a job for a few years because money and see where it goes. The end for Wolves didn't do wonders for his reputation, not likely to get a higher prem job. A non prem team won't pay the same money so why bother going abroad? I might be way off for him personally but sometimes jobs are just jobs too.

It's not the worst thing to come out as far as the players career etc. There have been rumours about African players having very different identities before, but this is the first case I can remember it being proven. Obafemi Martins was allegedly well into his 20's when he debuted for Inter Milan at 18

    Anybody else excited to see if we are really shit how bad can we be? Can we finish 3rd in the group? Would that improve our world Cup chances compared to a bunch of 1-0's then losing comfortably to France or Portugal where Waistcoat keeps his job?

    This becomes a much bigger year for them now, the lack of investment last time sent them straight back down and a few fans I know were really annoyed at how little a go they gave it. Sold their big player now and should legitimately be able to spend 100 mil + this year and they have to.

    He's been picked for the future. After Stones - Maguire our quality at the back is pretty poor. None of the other CB'S in the squad are close to starting regularly and don't deserve to be, at least White has a chance to be that player.

    If Sterling - Rashford are our starting wingers I won't watch a minute of us in the Euros. I'm only about 50% sure that won't happen

    It's not what a squads for though is it? You're not going to use every player. The White call up makes sense as an original 26. It's actually a more balanced squad now. It's just funny that he's been called up to replace one of our many many RB's Bit suprised by all the JWP love here. Southampton might have been the worst performing English team of 2021. They've been miserable. Taking a decent free kick isn't reason to include somebody in the team, there's no way people would be kicking up such a fuss if another player from such a poor team didn't get a call up.

    Haven't the brexit rules made it better to sign Brazillians etc than your average unproven European? Something about the weighting of individual domestic leagues/national football.

    Do People think we could really get away with a midfield consisting of Mount and Foden together against anybody but the likes of Scotland? I get that we have loads of good attacking players but we're also blessed with essentially no top defenders. Individually this team looks great, in reality it looks almost impossible to balance with players returning from injuries etc
