  1. I'm starting to think we're further away from a deal than I first thought. Any funds given to Lambert will be minimal to keep us in the league which would mean another shocking season. I really hope something can be done but the amount of times Lerner has **** up at the browns and here doesn't fill me with hope.
  2. If they come in late that means no improvements on the squad. If that's the case I would want Lambert out. He's proven he can't get much out of this group of players. I think the point being if you have a short amount of time to buy it may be better to use the manager who you believe knows what needs changing hence the August timescale. Getting someone in late who doesn't know the players could be very detrimental. I think it'd be better for the club to have a fresh start but if a billionaire owner decided on backing Lambert with serious cash I'd fully support that decision. Hopefully we won't have to wait that long though. We didn't keep DOL and MON came in late and we improved.

  4. Delph cleaned up. No surprise there.
  5. I would hope new owners aren't just jumping into this and have a man they want already in mind.
  6. You must have missed the rest of that post So potential new owners aren't allowed to at least consider all their options? To even contemplate a manager who lost 20 games and got 38 points would really concern me about their ideas and who they felt they could attract to the club. Thankfully I can't see any new owners having any interest in Paul Lambert. Perhaps they think he could do better with more backing? I'm not fussed if he goes by the way, I just find it odd that you're already castigating potential owners just for considering all their options. I'm not castigating them as I think its complete rubbish about them talking to Lambert.

  8. Of course he wants to go. He looks at Bowery and Holt playing and must think what the hell am I doing here?
  9. The new owners have already gone down in my estimations if they're even considering keeping Lambert. Luckily I don't think they are and that rumour just isn't true.
  10. I still think the biggest mistake waw houllier. Get the right man then, spend similar amounts and I think we'd still be a top 7 club right now. His issue is he doesn't just **** up once, he **** up over and over again making a bigger mess of what originally isn't a massive issue.
  11. Yeah good article. He's just not a good owner and so much of our struggles is down to the decisions he's made and the time he's made them.
  12. I'm pretty sure most on here are well aware of the myriad failings of Lerner. I just thought that given the news today, it would be a good time to reflect on some of the positives of his tenure, not the negatives. I think there were positives I just picked out that one as I don't feel its true. I was extremely happy when he came and absolutely loved the first four years. Getting back to wembly, seeing quality players wear the shirt and becoming a respected club again was incredible. But he ruined it, with mistake after mistake and if we'd evened out and he'd left when we were just a midtable club then I'd probably join you in thanking him. But for me the last 4 years and especially the last 3 take away any respect I had for him and I don't think he does deserve thanks. Twice we've finished on 38 points. We're extremely lucky we're still a premiership team. I'm not going to thabk lerner because there were a few teams worse than us.
  13. When Doug was ill, wanted out and had no interest in anything but surviving we finished with 42 points. Randy, who loves us, always tries his best and always puts the club first has achieved less than that 3 years in a row. If that doesn't show how useless he is I'm not sure what will.
  14. Apart from the last 3 January windows when our premiership status was gambled with.
  15. Did Lerner sell the browns to the right guy? Sure I read he was being investigated by the FBI. This knowing he will only sell to the right guy is like the he's always had our best interest at heart and always tried his best. Nothing really to back it up
  16. Mate you have not witnessed anything in Dougs reign other than the better days. We were never financially stable during his 25 years after he came back. He paid himself bonus after bonus for making losses. Never put his money in for transfers or to pay off the debt (even though he treated the club like his own and not as a shareholder like the other thousands - just because he had more shares and money) and had an ego that held us back year after year. You don't remember the bad times we had - we do and Randy only had 3/4 bad years out of the 8. That clearing in the woods had 25 years and more with some success in between and NEVER pushed us forward when he had the chance - Big Ron A Little, Gregory to name just a few in the Premiership years So yeah I'm thanking Randy for his time and going when he knew he had to and not hanging round like a bad smell that is spreading through our great club unlike that ******. Thanks Randy for putting your money into the club and making the infrastructure better and trying to make the team a success (at least with MON) I personally forgive you for hiring McLeish, we are all allowed a mistake or two and thank you for not getting us relegated unlike that hero to some.( Regardless of many thinking you are crap and have done nothing but wrong). Your McLeish was his McNeil, Your Houllier was his Venglos and perhaps your Lambert was his Turner. This supports Richards view that he seems to get away with it because he's not Doug. And as for always trying his best and having the clubs best interest at heart how can people honestly say that? Alex McLeish and the last 3 January transfer windows show that's not even close to being true.
  17. The manager told them it was an incredible achievement.
  18. Last 3 years worse than Doug's final year and he gets thanked for it. I just don't get it.
  19. Interesting awards night is cancelled. Could Lambert be sacked tomorrow then? Surely they would have cancelled it earlier if it was nothing. Seems strange to cancel it the same day Lerner releases his statement.
  20. Nothing to worry about? You said the project was to build again when it was actually to cut costs, survive and get sold. Unless new owners come in I see yet another abysmal season for this club.
  21. He did hang around, hence our last 3 seasons being our 3 worst ever prem years.I can't speak for him, but I imagine that Randy thought that once the wage-bill was sorted, then we could have another go. He has probably seen the last 2 years as having to spend £25m per season to stand still, and finally realised that he does not have the finances to fire us back up the table. I can't agree at all. I think the last two seasons have all been about setting us up for a sale. What would you rather he did? Kept us running with finances spiralling out of control meaning nobody would touch us? Why are the two extremes the only options? Where did I say that? I just offered an example. And you didn't answer the question... No of course I didn't want finances spiralling out of control. But at the same time after our 3 worst premiership seasons coming one after the other I find it hard to say fair play for not hanging around.

I think the last two seasons have all been about setting us up for a sale. But still spent nearly £40m in those 2 seasons. Would your beloved Herbert have done the same? What spend the bare minimum to survive in the league? Yes I think he did. And beloved? Just because Lerner has produced worse seasons than I ever experienced under Doug doesn't mean I loved what he was doing.

  24. If a manager as poor as Lambert walks then we are in real trouble.
