    I can see us adopting a 433 or 4141 at times this season, especially if we see another wide player come in. We’d therefore possibly be playing three of them at the same time. Assuming Ramsey and Buendia are preferred out wide I’d go Kamara, Luiz, Tielemans/McGinn. If it was just the two though, n a double pivot, it has to be Kamara/Luiz for me (at the moment) but Luiz has some competition in Tielemans I think.

    Agreed, come a long way but I have to admit I like every one of those players. They all did their bit to get us to where are now and will be remembered fondly. I think many of them, going by social media, feel the same way about Villa.

    If we do get decent dollar for him no one has snapped up Truffert yet, although I did see his name mentioned a while back but can’t remember which team it was. Kerkez to Bournemouth is a bit of shrewd business on there part. I like Maatsen at Chelsea but think he’ll stay there now Poch is there.

    Was it Diaby that fed in Cash with a lovely through ball for Ollie to miss from about a yard away (should have slid for it). I couldn’t make out of it was Dougie, Diaby or someone else from the replay

    LW/CF Amine Gouiri, AM Mohammed Kudus (or Rayan Cherki), DM/RB/CB Lutsharel Geertruida and a backup keeper….bosh, done Would have added Ugochukwu in there but that ship has sailed (screw you Chelsea)

    Only posting as said he’d be a good option for us but how the hell do Chelsea get away with this, including the loan to Strasbourg, who their owner has just bought hasn’t he. Boils my piss

    I’m not convinced by Doku, he could potentially be all show and no end product. His goals and assists stats aren’t that great. Also doesn’t he mainly play RW, where I would have thought Diaby will operate more than on the left?

    I’d like us to go for Gouiri as he’s good at both CF and LW. He’d be excellent in a 3 with Watkins central and Diaby right or as cover/comp for Watkins. He scores consistently too, like Diaby. There’s rumours we’re after Kessie but I’d prefer we got a couple of Young uns in for DM and RB and get a player like Geertruida that can cover the DM/CB and RB role equally efficiently. Not gonna happen but I’d like Gouiri, Kudus, Geertruida, Pubil and a keeper. If we let Dendonker go I’d like to get Ugochukwu too

    If that’s true can we look at Ugochukwu at Rennes. His stats are the same as Ugarte but he’s a 6 foot plus beast in the making. He’s only 19 too so will get better and better.

    I can see us using a 442, 4231 and 433 this season, especially as we’re likely to recruit more post Diaby (please make it official). Could we see another No10 come in to play the Odegaard role in a 433? We were linked to De Ketelare and Kudus previously.

    Good player, I think he’d suit the premier league as well. Isn’t he keeping Buendia out of the Argentina side?

    Is it greedy to also want Chiesa?!? Chiesa, Watkins, Diaby would be filth

    Looking at De Bruyne, Odegaards and De Ketelears stat maps they all look very similar in shape, just at different stages of career. That alone should point to the fact that he’d be a decent addition, albeit to develop here. If we’re after a playmaker though I’d like us to also look at Cherki but it would appear Chelsea are eyeing him at present.

    His stats in Belgium were unreal, something like 14 goals and 9 assists or something so there is talent there. He’d be a good option to have in a 433 alongside Luiz and Kamara pushing forward similar to Odegaard. I think he just needs the right environment to get his confidence back. He is slightly built though so needs to hit the gym a bit.

    He’d be expensive, plays predominantly on the right up front but has played the SS role previously so could be a decent option for us to play with and as comp for Watkins

    He’s done it on the European stage so I’d be less worried with regards to Diaby personally. Every transfer is a risk though. Personally I was disappointed we didn’t go in for Szboszlai but if the plan was to go to a a RW instead of a RM that can get forward then I’m all aboard the Diaby train, choo, choo

    If we could pull this off we’d have a front three to rival anything in the league, especially if we’re in for another forward as well. Wasn’t there talk of us also looking at Kudus at Ajax as well Sign all the forwards

    I thought he’d been quoted as 4141 and 433 were his favourite formations with 442 being his chosen one for an underdog team, for want of a different translation. In truth whatever one he opts for it’ll be a 271 or a 31411 in transition/out of possession

    If the talk is of us moving to Emery’s favoured 4141 formation, who we having in that front 5, new and/or current? If we do go down this route would Moreno still be allowed to bomb on? If he is then I can see the left of the front four being a No10, as opposed to a winger. The right side a winger to give us some width on that side.
