  1. The 8 stands for how much each bloomin burger costs! Love a BK but you have to get a second mortgage ££££££ every time you go there, specially with two kids and the wife in tow.
  2. Chuck some of the gold in there and they’d be nicer but good effort
  3. That’s an option but I’d worry about Konsa’s pace as he’s not the quickest. It was nice to see Carlos out there again, he’s only made about 3 starts for us hasn’t he or something ridiculous like that
  4. The rumoured Pedro Goncalves is the better player with consistent goals and assists for the last three seasons.
  5. I can see them all moving on, I agree about Bailey being the one that may stick around but he’s on 100k a week so we might look to get shot.
  6. I think Jonathan David is an interesting one as he’s obviously available but he’s not a sexy name like Osimhen or Ramos. He’s good at what he does though and would be a good fit for an Emery team I think. I’d like us to go for an up and coming though, someone like Openda or Wahi to support Watkins alongside Archer.
  7. Man Utd and Liverpool looking at Inacio at Sporting, would be a great player to push Mings here as his passing stats are impressive.
  8. Agreed, I’d release/sell/listen to offers for all of the 1st team below…. Steer, Olsen (obviously), Chambers, Digne, Dendonker, Nakamba, Sanson, Coutinho, Traore, Bailey, Davis, Wesley. I’d keep Young in the squad though for his leadership and professionalism qualities, but have him play less in the league and more in the cups perhaps. I did say previously I’d listen to offers for McGinn and Buendia, mainly due to the fact I think we’re looking at major players in their positions. I’d like them to be our bench options next season but in Ginnie’s case he’s 29 next season and it might be the right time to sell, something we’ve not done well previously. It might also help us FFP wise to get a decent fee in perhaps. He has performed well this season so if we keep him for a few more seasons I wouldn’t be unhappy about it. He’s talked admirably about Celtic previously so I could see him going there after Villa.
  9. As others have alluded to I think we’ll look to spend big, how big is debatable but I’m hoping NSWE think it’s now or never to break the top 6. To counter FFP I think we’ll see Bailey, Digne and Dendonker moved on as they’re all on high wages. It’s a similar situation to Ings, if we get a decent offer we’ll get shot of all of them IMHO.
  10. I’d be open to offers for Buendia, McGinn and Dendonker in there and look to bring other younger players in as replacements (Guler, Ugochukwu, etc) I’d love us to get Xavi Simons from PSV as a Buendia replacement (El Ghazi can put in a good word) as I think he’d be that player that can be the advanced LM, RM, AM and SS role if needed. He’ll end up back at PSG though I guess and Goncalves is probably who we’re interested in anyways. I definitely don’t want us to become the Spanish version of Wolves though with the links to us doing most, if not all of our shopping in La Liga. Don’t get me wrong there are great players there but there are elsewhere too and I hope we scout other leagues as well as La Liga. After all we are The real Villa and not Villareal (do you see what I did there?!?)
  11. If we want to improve on where we are we’re gonna need to splash the cash. If rumours are true the budget is €200m then I hope that’s net and not gross. We need players better than Buendia, JJ and McGinn. Improvements on these players is gonna cost us, at least upwards of £40m per position (if we really want to move forward) A midfield four of….. Goncalves, Luiz, Kamara, Otavio supported by….. JJ, Kokcu, Dendonker, McGinn is where we need to get to. Chuck in a Jurrien Timber at RB/CB and a Dybala or Felix up top and we’d be cooking. Bring in a few young uns to boost the squad and get shot of those not up to it (Bailey, Traore, etc)
  12. I think the Vitoria link up and now this potential bit of business will help us get around the Brexit issues and youngsters from the continent. I also think the other link up with Nas’s side in Egypt will help us get at the African players too. Showing my age here but as Hannibal said in the A Team ‘I love it when a plan comes together’

    Unai Emery

The man’s obsessed with football in general. His comments about watching the Leicester Everton game were funny. Personally I’d rather scratch my eyes out than watch that but he said he watched due to wanting to understand how different teams handle the pressures. Come on Villa build him that Bodymoor Heath apartment so he can live there 24/7 and get even more obsessive about the Villa project.

    Unai Emery

Just watched the presser, love the bloke, talks so well, none of the Gerrard jokey bollocks, all business but respectful and tactful at the same time. One thing’s for sure he’s up for the fight and I think he’ll have the players up for it too.
  15. He tends to play on the left but I think he’s a leftie so he could play on the right similar to McGinn.
  16. Rumours are Newcastle are scouting Szoboszlai. Always thought he’d be a decent should for one of our attacking midfielder roles. still only 22 even though it seems he’s been around for ages. Always thought he was leftie though.
  17. Regardless who comes in at RM in the summer can we also get Arda Guler too, pretty please with a cherry on top
  18. I think the media are taking the out of context ‘unlimited budget’ and suggested La Liga focus and just throwing names out there. I don’t think we’re going for Vlahovic as he’s a bit out of our league at the moment and I think our money, however much is available, should be better spent across a few more positions. It will be an interesting summer though
  19. If Brighton can put 6 past Wolves then we can beat them. They’ll be up for the game itself but I think, if we’re at it, we’ll have too much for them.
  20. Have no idea who he is but I will without hesitation jump on the band wagon and whoop uncontrollably. No seriously though, who is he?
  21. I get that this is a joke but what’s happening with him as it was rumoured they couldn’t register him as a first team player a while back due to FFP or something dodgy with his new contract?
  22. I think there’s a bit of a gap in our defence at the moment as Mings and Carlos are both 30, Konsa is 25. Feeney and the other kids are some way off the first team so I’d like us to go for a couple of 20-23 year old players that can bridge the gap a bit. I’ve already mentioned Inacio as the young lefty to provide Mings cover but I think the RB/CB should also provide cover at CBR too, someone like Timber, Antonio Silva or Geertruida would be good options although Timber would be expensive, as would A. Silva. Get these in and we’d be set defensively for a number of years whilst the promising youngsters develop.
  23. I think we’ll go Watkins, NEW, Archer for next season and loan Duran out for a season as Emery has said he’s a young one that’s not ready yet (or words to that effect). I’d ideally like us to bring in another youth prospect in Karim Konate, perhaps buy him and loan him out immediately before a Dortmund or Leipzig snap him up.
  24. Not a bad list and I agree with a lot of it but think we’d need to box a bit clever for some of it. Pau Torres is a great player but would cost an arm and a leg and might put Ming’s nose out of joint. I could see us going for someone like Inacio instead, younger, similar stats and wouldn’t upset the apple cart too much if he came onboard. Way cheaper too. I’d probably use the same reasoning for the striker role too as Thuram/Dembele would both want loads. Regardless of what we think Watkins seems to be the senior man, especially if we’re about to reward him with a new contract so I see an Openda or similar being chosen instead.
