It all seems a bit strange that he is fronting the new kit campaign if he knows full we that he is leaving. When do you think it was decided? Were the club aware that he was thinking of leaving? It just makes our club even more of a laughing stock! All players are replacable but the way this has happened, and the amount! Sterling for 50m?? Is he 6 times the player that Delph is? I remember when Man City were playing against Lincoln City in the old 3rd division, now they're able to buy trophies... Look how far we have fallen behind...

Some people are saying that if Benteke does leave then they hope he goes abroad so he can't score against us. In reality, if he leaves to join a club in the premier league, then he would likely join a team that regularly beats us anyway? He would have the opportunity, in his 36 other games, to score against our rivals.... Which could only be a good thing imo.

"Christian Benteke to stay at Villa Park" would be one article, and would stop the papers from making money peddling stories from "sources close to the player" or from "The Sun understand that" journalists.... Obviously it is in the newspapers best interests to throw around this garbage in the hope that something sticks. I very much doubt that Benteke has sat down with these journalists before the end of the season so I will believe a move when/if it happens. Hopefully we can win the FA cup and the bin dippers miss out on Europe... I'd rather walk alone...

For our last game of the season, we always pull positions out of a hat, including water boy, physio, kit man.... I want to see Vlaar as one of the above...

Are teams really trying to avoid the Europa league on purpose?? If they don't want all the extra games, wouldn't it make more sense to qualify and lose early in the competition rather than not qualify at all? The lure of European football might attract some better players to the club and there must be some money available for qualifying... Plus there is more money available for finishing higher in the league anyway... I don't buy that teams are deliberately losing to avoid the Europa League?

I bet Scumderland can't believe their luck! Against Stoke, the normally reliable Begovic drops the ball at Connor Wigwams feet... Against Southampton they get given two penalties, one of the very dubious and against Everton, they get absolutely bashed and two off-target shots bounce off players and go in... Talk about the football gods smiling on you!!! If I was a scunterland fan, I would check my premium bonds...

Everton have only won one of their last 5 away games... That was a 2-1 win at QPR.

We didn't expect 3 points v Spurs, we would be in more trouble without them!!

Have you seen Hull's run in? There are some tough games for them. Leicester best West Ham, who have given up this season... Hopefully we can do the same.... West Brom were woeful, it was QPR's second away win of the season... Hopefully they won't get two in a row.... Hope that Newcastle and Spuds win tomorrow...

I thought there was an improvement, certainly in chances created. If you look at the other teams in the mix: Leicester, Burnley, QPR, Sunderland, Hull then we have a favourable run in and we have the capacity to improve.. I am not sure that the other teams do. We have gone on two shocking losing runs and yet we are still in the mix. Until we are mathematically relegated, I am going to try and remain positive.. All we have to do is finish 1 point better off than 3 of 4 or 5 other dire teams... The fat lady isn't singing... yet...

Plenty of that undet Lambert so all good. Lambert's gone. Just saying 'he has a 60% win ratio' gives no idea of context. How many games? How many losses? Goals for/against? Etc 60% sounds amazing but a 30-35% loss ratio and the sample size being 4 months of football and it's not as impressive as it sounds. Winning 60% of our remaining games would be acceptable, if impossible

Seeing as the whole club is a bit of a circus at the moment, and reality TV still popular, why not get 13 fans to take a game each until the rest of the season and let the public vote on who should keep the job? It might seem like farcical idea but Lerner might go for it, he appointed McCleish.....
