Considering I was away for a week and forgot about this when I was top 5, I endorse this idea. -
I agree with a lot of that, but you don't mention that it's largely scolari's fault that costa defected.

Which actually makes little difference as we are a low-possession team. Not to mention that Westwood was in the team when we went on our worst run last season so this idea that his presence makes any difference is nonsense and backed up by nothing. It's probably backed up by looking at his potential replacements.

Really? I like Rakitic he is a good player but Xavi is one of the best midfielders ever and Rakitic is not even best Croatian midfielder at the moment The Xavi he's replacing isn't one of the best midfielders ever though. He's been past his best the last couple years.

Why scolari plays hulk over willian is beyond me. Also, why he never called up costa and stuck with Fred and Jo. And why he began the tournament with paulinho instead of fernandinho. And why he's considering 3 defensive midfielders. I guess that's why he makes the big bucks.

If argentina win the World Cup, they'll have to be one of the poorer sides to win it in recent history. I want them to win, but after their forward line they just don't really have great players at all.
