  1. Hmmm does 'reduce his workload' mean an even bigger role for Gary Mac? Hope not. I'd love to think that Gerard could move into a DOF role and bring Moyes in as manager - dream ticket for me.
  2. So erm, hang on... theres a 2 in it... that's, yes regulars at 18/19 your saying? Name me one striker who is a regular in the premiership who is 18/19?
  3. I had a dream last week that we beat Newcastle 2-1. And then we won 1-0. 2 nights ago i dreamt we beat west ham 2-1. Now either my brain is so lazy that it can't think past a 2-1 scoreline, or there is a pattern about to emerge!!!
  4. Tiote and Nolan are the heart of their midfield so we've got to take advantage of them being out. I'd be half tempted to play NRC, Makoun and Delph to simply out muscle and destroy them, but i think we need to go on the attack and play a 4-4-2 from the off. I'm not his biggest fan but i'd play NRC over Delph and just have him sit on Barton and stop him playing. After that I know Makoun had a poor game at Everton but I think he deserves another go in this game. Upfront we've got an embarrassment of riches - I'd go with Young and Downing on the wings, but having seen Albrighton in midweek I wouldn't mind any combination from those 3. Upfront it has to be Bent and Heskey. Why Heskey has been left out for so long after his revival under Houllier i do not know. Get the big man in there scaring the shit out of Collocini and Williamson and let Bent pick up the loose balls. -----------------Friedal--------------- Walker---Cuellar---Dunne---Young Downing---Makoun---NRC---Young ------------Heskey---Bent-----------
  5. I'm off skiing at the beginning of March with a few mates - likely destination being Soll in Austria. Wondering whether anybody has been here and got any reccomendations on where to stay? Also, i'm a bit of a novice (had a few lessons but thats it) and need to buy some ski clobber - anyone got a good website where i can get the best prices on jackets, goggles etc? Cheers fellow VTers
  6. I just wish he'd learn to use the **** thing! It's embarrassing enough that Richard Keys has to point out which bit of the screen to press.
  7. I've got to be honest with you, I stopped reading when I saw that. Had you have bothered to read the next 3 words of my post you'd perhaps have carried on, but don't let that stop you from rubbishing my post for a cheap laugh eh!
  8. Right common sense head on here people... I didn’t want Houllier in the beginning but I have warmed to him – he says the right things (hear me out) and picks what I feel is the best team. We do need to evolve to become a passing team if we are ever going to go beyond 6th place – MON took us as far as he could because he could play one way and his style of football was limited! For me this season is about taking one step backwards to take another two forward. Now as bad as his behaviour was last night – I don’t think this was anything other than GH getting caught up in the emotion of returning to his old club. I’m not defending him, if i had been there i’m sure i would be as mad as some on here, but i genuinely think he will wake up to the fans reaction and regret what he said last night. As for performances, well sack him now and it’s the board committing suicide more than anything else. He hasn’t had half a season yet, he’s had no chance to sign players, he’s had the worst injury crisis in my living memory, so he deserves more time. If we sack him the media would paint us in the same light as Newcastle and who would want to come and manage a club who sack managers without giving them a fair crack of the whip? Naive ones or Mecenaries only interested in the cash that’s who. Someone new coming in doesn’t guarantee an upturn – in fact getting rid of GH would mean all the work done these last months identifying transfer targets and preparing for January would go in the bin. A new manager would most likely need longer than December to assess the team and formulate new transfer plans, and by then we’re into the tail end of a season with the same players who are playing shit now and for all we know play shit for this hypothetical new manager!
  9. He probably came on here, saw the abuse being dished out by some of the whingers and thought - **** dat!
  10. Shame about Thompson - I think he would have been a greatly beneficial addition
  11. I think Thommo is a great appointment - seriously he is a very likeable guy with a bit of personality about him, a bit like John Gregory without the arrogance so i think the players will warm to him straight away. KMac on the other hand reminds me of Brian Little in his softly spoken approach. These two under Houllier could be just the right balance!
  12. Betfair you can still get it... very low odds though. £10 bet will win you about £3.
  13. Nice one MM, that's £100 to me!! (minus the £5 i had on Hughes, the £5 i had on Moyes, the £5 i had on Hitzfeld and the £10 i had on KMac) Still better than a kick in the balls Edit: That was freaky Jez!
  14. It's a bit like the Batman signal... people see it and they know he's on the way.
  15. Yep me too Neil - I was praying VDVs transfer would be ruled too late. Sadly i think they'll go from strength to strength now.
  16. Van Der Vaart is probably on 12million a year in wages - thats the difference
  17. If that happened i think i'd cum so hard my pants would fly off!!
  18. I wish some people would give it a day or so to calm down before coming on here and venting their frustrations! Yes it was a really bad result but it has happened and the club will no doubt continue to do what they were doing - and that is to find the right person to take us forward. Do people really want us to rush out and make a panic decision just because we lost one game? No thankfully we have a board who are wiser than that. Nasty Lee, Jon etc - Davies was average at best in pre-season and against Rapid. For me he is 4th best centre back and one whom may not be in the new managers plans. Even IF he is being left out for contract reasons I don't see that as being scandalous - it is yet more wise decision making... or would you rather him play one more game and get bumped up to silly wages to sit on our bench for the next 2 years??? Some of you deserve to support a team like Leeds and realise for real what it is like when silly decision makers are in charge - people who allow hearts to rule their heads. I'm hurting right now but thankfully i appreciate what's going on - i wish some of you could see it the same way instead of coming here and crying like small children who have just had their toys taken away! Thank you General for coming on so soon and facing the wrath of the fans, keep up the good work.
  19. Ah **** it, appoint Maradona and lets be done with it... at least we'd win a few 6-0s as well as lose them too
  20. GAME OVER... we could only put 3 past West Ham who were dour in a full 90 minutes. We don't have the fire power for a comeback of these proportions. I'm going to go and clear out the garage and check back at full time in the hope that we've managed to avoid a complete spanking.
  21. For me it has to be Jol. Did very well at Spurs and got treated very badly by them. He'll have a point to prove in English football plus all the knowledge and experience from coaching in Germany and Holland. Milner is gone and we are now in a dangerous situation where by we could lose more than just him... Jol should be a big enough name to convince our current crop to stay put, plus I would guess he'll have a few more ideas when it comes to bringing players in than MON ever showed.
