  1. Agreed it seems strange. My take out is that PL must have been scouting the Netherlands himself (or rather one of his team was) and he had a list of 'talent' from that region before he arrived. It's then possible he looked at what Numan had been doing and perhaps he hadn't found as good a list of targets - or may be PL just didn't agree with Numan's selection choosing to trust the info he already. Can't see it being anything else, because as you say, why sack the man who's scouting is being used to rebuild the squad?
  2. Let that be a lesson to all young footballers - miss training and you get sent to West Brom!
  3. Judging by the comments made by James Nursey recently we could be looking at a completely new look back line which (using a few hypotheticals), could look like this: Guzan Lowton – Clark - Ramis - Haidera Compare that to last season: Given Hutton - Collins - Dunne – Warnock I’d be quite happy with that. I think Given still has a lot to offer, but this could be Guzan’s year. Remember City brought him in on big money and soon realised that they had a better option in a young Joe Hart. Not saying that Brad is in Hart’s category, but he is a lot younger and therefore more mobile and still improving year on year.
  4. Hmmm dunno mate - I would have thought there would be no better motivation than performing on an international stage such as the Euros, and he looked well well off the pace there. I know that he was playing against some of the best teams there but he still looked like an old man who's best days were behind him.
  5. Gotta be Clyne! Please please let it be Clyne... ... it's gonna be Lowton.
  6. According to Tim Abraham on twitter the quotes from that article above are from a much older interview with the player - not made in light of our interest.
  7. That's the arabic for "Welcome" if i'm not mistaken.
  8. Too right! I used to work with one almighty bitch who was muslim and she properly lost it during Ramadam. People would simply know to avoid her at the time knowing what she'd be like. May be this is why this fella's picked up quite a few yellow cards each season?
  9. After OGS turned us down I was hoping for Laudrup. However, as much as Lambert was less exciting to begin with, I'm steadily coming round to the idea that we may have gotten ourselves a very very good manager! Lambert was the right choice, Laudrup would have been risky - but i'd have been happy with either.
  10. Ash - that is the big question which I think will form the basis for the second film...
  11. Right watched this the other night, here are my thoughts and answers to a few questions. Lot's of spoilers so you have been warned...
  12. Nothing wrong with a marquee signing as long as you get it right. It can help boost a clubs profile and make them seem more attractive to further signings - a sign that we mean business! Inside the club it can boost morale and give the current team a lift, almost challenging them to raise their game to prove that they are equal to he who is coming in. As Mantis has pointed out Bent was such a signing and that signing saved us from relegation.
  13. Which bunch of retards did they survey for that!!!???
  14. No thanks, not the type of striker we need. We're missing the deeper lying playmaking striker, someone who can hold the ball and release it to Bent/Weimann. Berbatov is leaving Man U, has anyone picked him up? Realistic shout?
  15. Based on all the conjecture i'd like to think the 3rd person is one of... Moyes - and he's first choice. He may well have been the first choice from the start and the wait is all about agreeing a settlement with Everton. That would be the dream. Some complete leftfielder like Laudrup. Riskier than RM or PL but one which (as with OGS) would appeal to the fans. Probably a backup incase neither of the other two comes off.
  16. I think last nights conversation must have gone something like this: Faulkner: So Ole, the jobs yours if you want it. Ole: Brilliant, where do i sig... WHOAH hang on, part of the agreement was that Heskey would be gotten rid of before I agreed to anything! Faulkner: Well, yes yes he's going in the morning. Ole: Forget it bud, I ain't signing shit til he's gone! So as I see it, now that stumbling block is out of the way - he'll agree to be our manager later today!! Yay, happy times!
  17. Take it from me, if a story is embargoed like that its going to be big news!!!!
  18. On AVB: It’s pretty clear that Terry and Lampard run that Chelsea team – AVB wouldn’t stand for that, imposed his rule (which including dropping Lampard) and as a result they wouldn’t play for him. Di Matteo on the other hand is either (a) happy to be their glove puppet or ( possibly too naïve to realise he is being manipulated by them, whatever it is they like him so they play for him. If I had my fantasy choice it would be appoint AVB, clear out the rotten core of players and give him the money with which to rebuild – hopefully that would include a few of his old Porto players!! Falcao anyone
  19. Apparently is was www.pinkun.com/home which put the story up about him quitting then quickly took it down.
  20. I've seen quite a few rumours on Twitter that he's gone. Apparently a few people noticed an East Anglian news publication put up a story saying "Lambert leaves OFFICIAL" and then tthey took it down. Still 2/1 on Betfair if you fancy a flutter
  21. Seriously? From who??? I purposefully avoid anything with him in for the fact that he's the worst actor I've ever seen! Edit: Sorry i realised you must have meant you'd heard good things about that film in particular.
  22. Just got round to watching the remake of 'The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo'. Very good i have to say! Rooney Mara - even with all that shit in her face and a daft haircut - she'd deffo get it!
