    Running

My Paris Marathon was a failure. Unfortunately I was ill but thought I was ok. Stomach wasn't good and basically none of the energy gels were being digested. Had felt good at halfway and then around 25k knew it was not going well. Went downhill after that. Had to stop and walk 4 times to complete it. 3h28m in the end quite a way off last year 3h18m Have decided to look at redemption in October with one of Marathons up north or possibly Dublin if I can find a way to get entry.
  2. Two more wins and a draw should be enough for 4th. Spurs will get 8 to 10 points I think We have to keep focus. I'm worried our next two games are at home where we aren't very good anymore. Bournemouth Chelsea Brighton and Palace. There are two wins there for us I hope
  3. Think Rogers left, Zaniolo right and Diaby off Watkins. Keep Bailey for chasing the game and for other key days like Thursday
  4. Still annoyed at those 9 mins of madness against Brentford. 2 points we should not have dropped.
  5. If we assume Liverpool and West Ham are out and Liverpool win and West Ham lose their games next week. We need Arsenal, City through and Dortmund and Bayern out and it's all but done. If Leverkusen and say Bayren go through we need Villa and City to make the finals (City knocking Bayern out).
  6. My worry is how poor our home form has become. 2023 Villa and we'd get 7 points from the next 3 home games and then have good chances against Palace and Brighton. Would be thinking 10 points
  7. I think they're decent at home, they've played a lot of games away recently. That's why 4 of their last 6 games are at home.
  8. Yeah, their run in doesn't seem too bad. They also have Burnley, Sheffield and Palace in their next 3 games so should be winning those. We do need 2 wins from our remaining games and then a draw. I think 7 points is enough for top 5. Spurs will get between 8 and 10 points. They've 2 easy wins end of season against relegated Burnley and Sheffield United. Then could get a couple of draws or a win and draw from their 4 tough games.
  9. They'll get 3 for sure, they're home to Burnley and Sheffield United, away to Palace in their next 3 games. Then they have Arsenal, Newcastle and Brighton. I think they'll get 4 wins from the remaining games and maybe a draw and a loss. So 13 points. Which means we need a win to be clear of them on GD most likely. It's really down to next weeks European fixtures. WE need Liverpool and West Ham to get some points at least while going out.
  10. A lot rides on the Arsenal Bayern game. If Dortmund and Bayern go out that should be enough. I do worry about us though with just a single goal lead as Lille are good side
  11. There's a chance 6th won't be Europa League football if Chelsea win FA Cup and England don't get the extra CL place. We need to win Conference League or at least stay 5th to make sure we can at least get an improvement on ECL for next season
  12. It'll be much clearer after next week at the very least
  13. Any hope left is on Dortmund and Bayern going out. If City win too then we're guaranteed an English finalist in CL It's all close to settled next week.
  14. Yes despite even the Opta % chance predictions showing it was a little better than 50:50 since United and Newcastle got dumped out
  15. Nothing we can do now if Arsenal lose. It's over then unless Leverkusen **** up
  16. Coco Beach e/w. Fill your boots lads. Been waiting for a soft ground Aintree and he'd have a huge chance. This is it. Wheelbarrow job
  17. I think the biggest unknown in relation to a new stadium on the site of Villa Park is where would we play football for the seasons while it's under construction. Tottenham had the advantage Wembley being there. I don't see any options in Birmingham that would be Premier League standard and have enough capacity to mitigate the revenue drop in a constrained PSR environment. In relation to the North Stand we can all agree it's dead for work in relation to this decade. The other work that will take place is to increase capacity and increase the revenue on match day. I think improving the transport to Villa Park is also key for the club to push and a prerequ for any plans in relation to bigger upgrades to a new stadium on the site in the 2030s
  18. Yeah left back, replacement for Digne if rumour is true. Moreno has to compete
  19. The groups will persist while people like you want them to exist. We should be proponents of all people are created equal and should be treated as individuals.
  20. You don't have a coherent argument to make to support grouping people based on race and that's why nobody debates the merits of this they just jump to labeling others. My views are we should focus society on equality of opportunity for everyone and not equality of outcome. I believe the primary issues faced are socio economic not race. People who grow up in disadvantaged backgrounds do not have the equality of opportunity of those born in wealthier backgrounds. This is irrespective of race. Rich minority person Vs poor white person doesn't place the latter in the privilege state based on being white.
  21. As all people should know there are differences between organisations and sentiment as you say. Just look at Charities, so many were and are corrupt ways of getting money from people to line pockets rather than help those they are intended to. Does that mean the sentiment of charity is bad, no obviously not.
  22. The grouping is the problem. People did that in the past for racist reasons. We are in the present and you are the proponent of grouping people by their race and I am not.
  23. Well if you're born with higher level of intelligence we should group you in with those who have an inherent advantage over others in order to rectify that.
