  1. Without doubt....and the scary thing is, Randy Lerner has spent £120m+ in the past 7 years for that squad! If only he had a plan when he came in and didn't try to rush things....sigh.
  2. What he did at Norwich wasn't a fluke. The difference is that he buil momentum in League 1 with Norwich, not the Premier League. Maybe it's blind faith because I wanted him in the summer, but I'd keep him even if relegated.
  3. Time for Randy to go now, if only it was that simple. I think Randy probabl realises it's time to go as well. Not that many billionaires out there to take over though.

    Relegation

I was fairly confident of survival until today....we have been 'doubled' by a struggling Southampton, on the back of a home thrashing against Wigan as well as heavy defeats to Spurs and Chelsea (and thats not even mentioning Bradford). I can't see where a win will come from. A team full of youngsters (and the senior players that we do have couldn't care less). No way back barring a miracle in the next 3 weeks of transfer window. Sad times.
  5. Can't wait to find out who Lamberts un-earths next!
  6. Lambert is going to be a Villa legend....I just hope we can keep hold of him (and Benteke!)
  7. What, our success has gone to our heads because we don't think we should just roll over and let an (admittedly slightly bigger) club who we finished above last season poach all of our management team for no compensation? You guys would have reacted exactly the same if the boot was on the other foot and I have no doubt you will do when lambert walks out on you at some point in the future. For the time being though we can all move on. We've both got new managers the fans are happy with and we are both making new signings and looking forward to the new season. Bit of a shame though we have to have a lunchtime kick-off for our game at Villa Park. Still at least it should be on the saturday as i would expect Liverpool to get through in the Europa League. But you would have got compensation if your CEO hadn't broken Lambert contract by refusing him permission to talk to us, DESPITE it being in his contract Just read to bottom of page 5 - point already made
  8. This guy and agent ITK say Lambert. They're usually right... There are full of shit. To be fair to that KKFootball if you check his timeline before the Bolton game he was saying he thought McLeish would be at Villa Park next season, then after the Bolton game he kept saying he is off. This also coincides with what Faulkner said in his interview that after the Bolton game they made their mind up. It don't take a genius to guess. Mcleish was favourite with most bookies to get the sack first. All he had to do was look at the situation and guess and get lucky. They then claim ITK. To be fair, KK Football hasn't jumped on any bandwagons in the past and is quite calculated in what they say. I think they even got McLeish's departure time within 30 mins (although this could obviously have been guessed). I wouldn't dismiss them completely.
  9. I can't see why a Lambert/Martinez would risk going to Liverpool (other than financial reasons), it's pretty much career suicide. They finished 8th this season, and that isn't good enough, but look at the squads above them and the only team they should be above is Newcastle (and thats maybe debatable if Newcastle add a bit more depth). Is 7th that much better? And will it keep you in a job at Liverpool? They could come to Villa and finish maybe 12th 1st season without any real pressure and build over 2/3 years quite easily.
  10. I don't know much about that Agent_ITK bloke, but he does have 12,000 followers. You would have to have a good track record to build up that many followers...
  11. He is either completely deluded or trying to save face for when the inevitable happens. I think it's highly unlikely that any chairman in the country would employ this man again, and AM knows it.
  12. WM said he was there at Lerner's request. I hope this isn't an indication that McLeish is staying. There was a story in the Daily Star (I know!) a few weeks ago about Randy wanting to hire a director of football AND a new manager. It would certainly fit in with that theory.
  13. I like Cuellar, he seems like a decent bloke, but why does everyone rate him so highly? He's ok, but he really isn't that good...
  14. Who's up for smuggling Paul Lambert back with us next week!?
  15. You just have to see some of AM's press conferences in the past few weeks to see that he is clearly deluded. He may want to stay, but he will be sacked, Randy may be stubborn, but he does have £150m (ish) invested in Villa, he won't want us flirting with relegation again next season.
  16. He's not staying, he's just acting as though he is so he can get his big fat pay-off.
  17. I just worry that if Randy see's that advert, he will just stick 2 fingers up at the fans and keep McLeish
  18. OK, I give up! I really hope we get him and he shows how wrong you are
  19. I'm not sure if you are being serious or not, but I'll humour you this once. They are comfortably above us despite only being promoted last season and spending less than N'Zogbia cost us last summer! I would wager any money that Norwich's wage bill is about 1/3 of ours. They have over-achieved massively, why can't you see that!?
  20. So you are basing your opinion of Lambert on 1 game!? Unreal
  21. I'm sure I read that he'd got a managerial job in Denmark
  22. No1 choice and the outstanding candidate in my opinion would be Paul Lambert. I just think Lambert and Villa would be so well suited. I think he could deliver instant results and get us pushing for top 8 without too much investment. I wouldn't mind Martinez either, but I think we would have to take a more patient approach with him. Our current players are all set for a Paul Lambert type team (grafters, counter attacking) and the whole mentality of the playing staff would have to change under Martinez (which may not be a bad thing but I'm not sure the fans would give him the time to do it).
  23. I'm sure Lerner and Faulkner could twist that to their own means, and say "he's played in the Premier League for many years", etc.
